How many guests would you invite to your wedding?

For our wedding, we ended up having more than 300 guests. There were some people we didn't know (so we're not sure if they were party-crashers-- haha). All in all, it was quite a big guestlist, but everyone seemed to have fun. How many guests attended your wedding? And if you're not yet married, how many guests will you be inviting?

Since my husband and I got married by the justice of the peace, we only had 2 friends able to come. We had planned on having a bigger wedding later but it hasn't come yet. I would want to invite my closest friends and family to join in our celebration. I want to be able to visit with them as well on that day so I don't want so many. How can you plan a menu if you don't know how many to feed? Where was your wedding held? What type of place? How could you have sent a thank you note if you didn't even know who they were?

We had around 280 guests attend our wedding. We invited close to 300. Big weddings are fun, but at the same time, the more people you invite, the more expensive it becomes.

me and my boyfriend now are actually talking about getting married and we actually discussed the number of gues we will be having, and we agree to stick to 100 guests, 50 on his side and 50 on my side. i guess its already a lot since we intended only to invite our very close friends and relatives. i dont want to have a lot of guest since it will really cost a lot to both of us. we would rather spend a large amount of money building our future house and as well on our honey moon. what really matter is that we will be married in the church with our close friends and relatives as witnesses. I think we can avoid having wedding crashers since we will be giving invitations and attached are sort of wedding passes. my cousin did that during their wedding and it really works. Since we will be hiring wedding planners, someone can stay at the front desk of the reception area with a list of invited guest. that way we can control the number of guest base on the original guest list. as much as possible, we will personally invite our guest to make sure if they were really coming to finalize the guest list and if those guest are not able tp attend, we can invite others as well.
