Color of your wedding gown

Would you prefer the traditional white gown or something entirely different and eye-catching? My wedding gown was made in ivory and had a long train and cathedral veil. Everyone said it was a beautiful gown. I agree 100%. I know of some people who prefer modern wedding gowns, though; those that are not in the shade of white, but are actually colored, like pink, red, or even violet! It just bothers me that anyone would want to get married in those colors! Haha. What are your thoughts on this?

My wedding dress was blush...It wasn't white and it wasn't off white it was a very pale pale pink color. You couldn't really tell unless you put it up next to something that was white. I had my bridesmaids in taupe and I think that it turned out beautiful I wouldn't change anything about that day.

Well i prefer the traditional white gown, but when i got married i am not already virgin that time coz we are already living in with my husband before we decided to marry so better choose an offwhite to show that i am not already that pure when my husband bring me to altar.I also dont like those colored gowns to wear for wedding...

Well I think ot matters more what makes the bride and groom happy. A lot of weddings are no longer traditional. Such as getting married on the beach for example. When the bride comes down the aisle I think it would be a nice change to the pridictable white wedding dress.

You know what? I am one of those who wants to wear a wedding gown that is any color other than white. Its getting stale already. If I'll have it my way, I would like my gown to be in red. A beautiful, charming red gown. If that's too striking, I would like to wear a gown that is worn by Barbie in Barbie in Swan Lake. I like the gown so much and I'll just redesign it, but the colors pink and purple will still be there. But if my husband insists I wear white, then I'll wear white. But I'll still have pink and purple somwhere in my dress. I know he'll understand.

I saw one Filipina who wore bloody red color as a wedding gown on her wedding day which also fell on a Valentines day. Her entourage were the one who wore white instead. She simply stood out in the crowd:)

My dress was an off white and everyone thought it was beautiful . I had a really hard time trying to get a wedding dress as everything was to big for my size unless I wanted to spend a fortune . In the end I found one that was an off white and I fell in love with it right away . Originally I had been looking for a white dress but this one was my absolute favorite . I think everyone has a different idea on what they would like for their wedding and that determines the color they would like to have but seeing something different can sometimes lead you to change your mind .

I prefer an Ivory colored wedding gown which I did have on my wedding day. It was like yours. Cathedral veil and just enough train that won't be a hassle walking after. I think it's nice to keep the traditional white or ivory or off white colored wedding gowns because not just that it resembles purity but because it gives a real traditional view of how brides should look like and be portrayed.

And oh by the way, I still want to wear my gown again. I feel like its such a waste for a beautiful gown to be placed in a closet after just one use. :P

honestly since I had children before I got married the traditional white gown really didnt apply. I was also pregnant when I got married so my dress was a blue and white maternity dress I bought at K-Mart. It was not fancy but it worked. Besides I want our love for eachother to be remembered not my wedding gown.

I think the color should be what the bride prefers. I myself think the traditional wedding gowns are lovely. But my favorite color is lavendar blue. Thanks my lucky stars I won't ever get married again so I won't have to make that decision. Marriage is an honorable institution but I have no desire to ever be institualionized again.

I think the traditional color of white and it's variations are best. I just think there's something very goregous about white wedding gowns. I want to get married in white.

I would prefer white... but with a twist... Aside from white, I'd probably have gold, silver, light blue or pink attached to my dress. Maybe the sash, train or the petticoats. =) I don't know... I can't seem to make up my mind! =) Of course, my dress should have lots of lace.. Very romantic. *sigh* can't wait. =)

I think all brides are beautiful! It is totally up to the bride which color her gown should be. Mine would be red.But someone else's could be pink. My mother got married in alight green suit. It's the bride's day and her choice.

My wedding gown was white... it had a long trail. i didn't want to wear a veil, so i wore a teira instead. My dress was sleeveless, and it had a shear back with ivy going up the back on the shear. it had some ivy on the dress, but in spots... that way it wasn't completely covered. I had white gloves that went all the way up pass my elbows.

the color of my wedding gown is off white because its fabric is pina. a native fabric known here in the philippines. it's nice to put some light colors on your gown (because of the designer's fashion sense i guess) but i think white, cream, ivory, or off-white are still classic and more beautiful.

My first wedding gown was an off-white, very simple thing. My second wedding gown was a very pale green. I like the 2nd one better :)

I personaly would wear an ivory or cream colored gown. one reasion is it looks better with my skin tone the second is i'm a bigger gal and I feel like a big huge marshmellow in a white dress. If I lose weight I may wear a mix of Ivory/cream and white, since I have seen many nice gowns made with all of these colors. If I were to get married a second time I would wear a colored gown. I just feel that you shouldn't wear a white gown if you are remarrying. just my personal opinon though.

I myself would prefer a white dress with some color added to it, In my mind i see a white dress with a pale yellow bottom and a pink ribbon. I know many people like to keep it traditional but i love color too much to exclude it from such a happy moment.

Well, the color of my wedding gown when I will get married someday is just the traditional one. I don't wanna go for other color because white is a symbol of purity.
