I guess I call myself a working housewife. I stay at home and take care of my 15 month old daughter & I will continue to stay @ home with all my children. & I consider it work because we are taking care of the children and all of the housework/errands, cooking etc. etc. So-- I am a stay at home working mother & loving it. Although, I am looking into some work from my home-- so I can make extra money!!

Some that don't know what life as a mother or an housewife, it is not an easy task, yeah! we admit we just stay home but taking care of kids is not that easy, cleaning the house, do the laundry thing, do some things for husband needs, cook for food for the family, budgeting, grocery, and etc....its nice to hear that someone is proud to be a housewife....i am too....thanks for the response....have a good day...

I am both. I work from home part time to help pay for my sons private school since he had trouble in public school but I have a job where I can be very flexible so i am always here for my family. It is sometimes hard and I wish more than anything I could just be a housewife but right now my family really needs the extra cash. I am trying money saving strategies so I never have to work more than very part-time instead of full-time and so I never have to put my boys in a daycare. Really after daycare and the commute clothes meals etc is there anything much left of your check if you go to work with kids in daycare?

I'm basically a stay at home mom. I work two Saturdays a month outside of my house, while my husband is home with the baby. I don't want someone else raising my son. Plus as someone else pointed out, I wouldn't have much of a check left after all the expenses that come with working outside anyway. I think stay at home moms work just as hard as moms that work outside of the home, though. When I worked 5 days a week, my husband and I took turns cooking, we took turns changing diapers and doing all of the other baby care. Now that I'm home I do at least 90% of both of those. My husband says he's too tired when he gets home. But that's okay. I love my son and will do anything for him.

I'm going to choose to be a housewife when we have kids. I don't like the idea of putting them in a daycare with strangers. I'm a very untrusting person. My husband can take care of himself though, he's a big boy.
