I find a lot of anti-indian topics in the discussions here. And one of the reasons why anyone would start a discussion on such a topic could be that many people would respond to it. It seems there are many participants from India. Is that right? What do you think about such discussions?

hmm... there are anti-indian topics, anti-islam topics, anti-romanian:), anti=american topics... i have no trouble that on mylot are many participans from India, but i don't like cheaters(from all arround the world, not only from india!). i saw once a guy from india he posts 220 answers in his first day! and each of his answer had at least 20-30 lines. I sdcared myself when i saw that, but after i read 4-5 answers i saw that was fragments of books or jokes with no matter with subject...

Good observation. But when people make impressions out of personal experiences, there is a possibility that those who hear about them tend to generalise it. sometimes, the recounting of experiences may have some motives, sometimes, they may be just observations. So, it may be better to get rid of anything that leads to misunderstanding, and limit our observations to the level of curiosity.

You're right, there's not only anti-indians topics out there, there are basically anti-everything. To me if you are right and have pride for your country, race, country, whatsoever, just keep the pride. There's no need to bother with such topics. You'll only end up losing your pride that way.

I don't think topics that include how many indian users appear to abuse the system (on purpose or not) and how indians can't speak enough english to participate on an english only forum, are "anti" Indian. I think its a completely reasonable expectation and I think it isn't hateful or anti-Indian but just a coincidence that it happens to be Indian people.

You have a point there. But when so many baseless accusations appear, it is simply sickening, not just about India.A lot of it is clearly based on prejudices. If it is a well-reserahced argument with some proof, people will accept it.

I think about the same of those topics as I do of the clearly anti-american ones. Don't make blanket statements, they're never accurate. The fact is that no matter where, online or off, when you have a group of people together, you're going to encounter racism or discrimination. You can either pretend it's all one sided, or accept that there are people all over who are ignorant.
