should i give to cashier his 5000 back?

today i went to a bank where ma account is, to withdraw some money with my friend,i gave ma cheque to my friend to get cash,he got the cash counted and he gave to me, then i just put the money in ma wallet without counting it,when i got home, i thought i should count it. when i finished counting i got surprised,becuz there were 5000 more than my cheque's amount,at that moment i start thinkin that what should i do,bcuz that bank is so far away from my town,at the evil side of mine im felt happy with Rs.5000,and at the other side i got ma self confused what should i do?

I think you should give it back. I got into this situation once long ago, and just to hit at them, I had a slight thought of keeping it. But then my conscience got the better of me and I returned the same. Please do give it back, you will definitely feel better.

Moreover, this 5000 will be cut from his salary. We all commit human errors, don't we?

I think it might be advisable, for your own peace of mind, to call the bank on the phone and ask them to send you a statement of your account, because you think there's been an error. Check to see how much has been debited to your account, and if it's the cheque amount, and not the extra 5000, you should call and arrange for the money to either be returned or debited from your account. It must be very tempting, but if everybody did what your evil side is cotemplating, as you put it, bank charges would rise and everybody would be paying back your 5000, if you catch my drift. Besides this, the cashiers probably have their tills checked at the end of business and it will probably come to light where the 5000 is anyway, so I think honesty is the best policy, don't you?
