I personally am all into the hybrid or electric cars, but I am wondering if yall are too. Would you drive an electric car or go with a hybrid of gas and electric? With the price of gas no adays I am going to try to find a good hybrid that is cheap on gas. Tell me what yall think and the pros and cons of getting one.

A hybrid or electric car sounds great and of course would easily decrease pollution and gas prices if there was a greater number of people buying them. Though, it would seem that gas is still needed for many aspects of our life and still needs to be brought into mass appeal and of course conversions of the many aspects of life we still use gas for. The major downfall in hybrid or electric cars in my opinion is the design of chassis and maybe the battery time. I'm unfamiliar with how they specifically work but how would you charge an electric car if you are going on a long-distance trip. How specifically do they work anyway?

Well to my understanding. You need a gas expliosion above the pistons in your engine to make your car move pretty much. Well in an electric car they use gears to move the pistons and turn your camshaft and the electric moves the gears.

I like the Toyota way. I am pretty keen to go this way sometime in the future. Especially with the price of petrol on it's way up. I think it is the only way to combat this ever rising cost.

I personally would drive a car such as the ones you have asked about. Most of the ones that I have ever seen are small little cars. I'm a fan of small cars like that. I think they're cute. Yes, I'm all for saving gas/money. =)

My parents bought a Prius and love that car alot. My dad has gotten pretty good at conserving gas/money with the car. Personally I am slightly unimpressed by the car adn thought it would conserve more, but I hope as the tech imporves hybrids will get better mileage. I live in Canada and running the hybrid during the cold winter does not save much gas..it is much better int he summer

I would certanily buy an electric car, although their is one problem at the moment. The battery technology is what is holding them back. Electric motors have many advantages over a traditional IC engine, they have more torque, smoother, quiter, cheaper to produce, low maintainance and of course better for the environment. Its becuase of the battery limits that manufactures have produced the hybrid cars. Current issues are that some batteries will only last about 3 years and the range is very limited on pure electric cars.

Hybrid cars are a good option for anyone who is going for a new car. Hybrid cars as they are known to be very eco friendly, whereas the electric cars are pretty much the other way coz if the source of power is from coal then the car would be explicitly causing damage to environment. Yes, when coal is burnt to generate power, heavy amounts are pollutants are released into the atmosphere. Moreover they are some other technical issues with the car. Most of the companies are also opting to improve the hybrid car technology and improve they market, namely TOYOTA. Lets go ahead with hybrid car and enhance the companies in this segment to save our planet

I would love to, if I could find one that I like and would be comfortable to drive. I just bought a Toyata Solara in 2005. I was looking at the Prius, but found it not very good looking and it was uncomfortable to drive in. See, I have a back problem (lower back) that prohibits be from getting certain vehicles). I really wanted to get it the Prius, but I figured that my health was more important to me. Plus, I do other things to conserve energy, so I figured it would be OK. I'll definitely be hoping that when I do purchase again, that there will be many more options to choose from, and onw that will be comfortable on my back.
