Is it better to eat before or after exercising?

I don't guess it's a good idea to eat within the hour or so before exercising. Not only do people sometimes get nauseous, but the autonomic nervous system actually stops digesting for a bit when the body goes into stress, which at least, fairly heavy exercising is.

i think it is better to exercise before eating. i dont know the reason but all people including gym instructors say to have food after exercise.but then again you should not have food immediately after exercise,should wait for some time and then only have food.it may be because if you eat before exercising that food will be burnt up completely and you will be left with bo energy.

It depends on the exercise you're going to do but I think it's better to eat after exercise because if you're going to jogging or do push-ups or sit-ups for example you'll feel the food boucing on your stomach and that's not pleasant and you even can get sick with it.

its not advisable to eat before exercise. there shold be atleast 1 hopur gap between your food and exercise. there should be something in ur stomach but not too heavy. also after exercising you can eat very well. oily foods should be avoided anyways. you should also be carefull while drinking water between doing exercises. dont drink too much of water while doing exercises.

I have polycystic ovarian syndrom and during my search to cope with it I learned about food and exercise.. Normally people should eat first. Sumo wrestlers work out on empty stomachs as a way to keep fit but stay fat. For me with my problems if I eat first my food turns to surgar during exercise and I dont use it all so its turned right to fat. Its something interesting I never knew.
