Has anyone else seen this movie? I really enjoyed it. It came out a few months after Titanic and because of that it was overshadowed. In my opinion this movie at the tim really showed how talented Leonardo DiCaprio is. The role he played was far more challenging then the one in Titanic. Playing twins is never easy but when you are playing twins with such opposite personalities makes it even harder. The rest of the cast was just as good. Jeremy Irons, Gabriel Byrns John Malkovich, and Gérard Depardieu as the Musketeers were superb. They were perfect for the roles. If you saw this movie what did you think? Did you like it as well?

The cast were all excellent in this movie. I hated Titanic and thought it was a real wasted opportunity. The effects were pretty good but the sub plot (in my opinion) was dire. After Titanic I didn't believe that Leonardo Di Caprio was going to go on an star in any films I was likely to enjoy but I am happy to say that I was wrong and I was proved wrong quite early on with "The Man in the Iron Mask"

Well I like parts of Titanic I just think he was far better in this movie. If you get a chance see "Catch Me If You Can" with him and Tom Hanks. Very good movie as well. The performance in The Man In The Iron Mask really surprised me. It showed just hope capable he is.

LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the movie. I saw Titanic as well and wasn't as impressed with it as I thought I would be. But then again I saw the documentery of how it was made etc., ans I think I had too hig of expectations. But it was still a great movie. Leonardo DiCaprio in my opinion did a great job and I can tell as he gets older he acting improves more. He has come a long way to make a name for himself. and you are right to play twins with such different personalities as these two, meant he had alot of homework to do. The other actors were well cast and played their parts to the "T". I love movies like this one. Another great movie to watch is Tombstone (I highly recomend it, if you haven't seen it) - great cast.

Heheh yeah I think most knew at least that part of the ending even if we didn't know it all. I can understand why you wouldn't want to because of that but overall it's a decent film. It has some good parts in it.

titanic was but I agree not as much as it was hyped up to be. I enjoy it but I think Leonardo DiCaprio did a far better performance in Man In the Iron Mask. Tombstone is great. I like that one as well. Far better then Wyatt Earp that came out the same year.

I liked this movie. It was kind of surprising to me that I did because it is not typically the kind of movie I'd choose to watch. Although I'm not the biggest fan of him, I thought Leonardo Dicaprio did an excellent job in his roles, as well as the other actors. The only negative thing I could say about it is that it did seem a bit slow and lengthy. Still, the storyline kept me curious about how everything would play out.

I'm not one of his big fans either but I did like him in this. Yeah there were a few slow parts but not like some I've seen. I like the storyline but also the humor that was in there in spots. It was timed just right when you needed it.

Richard Chamberlain - image of Richard Chamberlain who played in the movie "The Man in the Iron Mask (1977)
I did not see this movie but I did see the one that came out in 1977 with Richard Chamberlain and Louis Jourdan as D'Artagnon and I thought it was great. I am not a fan of Leonardo DeCaprio so I probably will not waste my time...especially since most of the remakes can't hold a candle to the previous ones. It was originally a silent film starring Louis Hayward and it, too, was probably better (even without sound) than the latest one.

You might want to withhold judgement until you see it. I did see the one with Richard Chamberlain and I didn't care for that one near as much. Leonard Di Caprio was very good in this but also all the other actors in it were phenomenal. Gabriel Byrne as D'Artagnan and Jeremy Irons as Aremis really stuck out. They were perfect for the roles. I've seen some remakes that are better then the original. Angels In The Outfield for one. I have both copies but the remake was better. Mighty Joe Young is another. It does happen.

Oh, Emerald, this is one of my favorite of all time movies - however, this is the remake of my favorite. For some reason (old age), I can't remember the name of the man that starred in the original; but he was the very handsome man that played Dr. Kildare back in the 60s or 70s. His first name is either Jim or James. Please, someone, jump in here and help me. The original movie is much better (only my opinion though), but I did also love the remake. ~Donna

Well I know the one Richard Chamberlain made. Not sure if that is the one you mean or not but it was out in the 70's. You can check http://imdb.com if that isn't it to find the one you mean. I did't care of the one with Chamberlain but I'm not a big fan of his anyways. I did like him in the Slipper and Rose but that was about it. Most of these movies are remakes. Probably the one you remember is one too but that's ok. They can all be good in their own right.

I adore this movie! I did not see it until about 2 years ago but now I own it. I really enjoy it and it is a little different then the usual Three Muskeeters story. I agree the performances were wonderful as well.

It's one we have a copy of as well. It's one I enjoy watching for the interactions between the characters. They did a great job of casting them all.

I really enjoyed this movie. I have it on VHS. I have watched it so many times. It shows you what money and power can do to someone and what not have money. I think I would rather not have money and power.

I wouldn't want to try and play such opposite characters in a movie like he did. It has to be rough. Louis was such an evil spoiled king where as Phillipe was such a gentle soul. It was fascinating to watch him at it.

Yes I saw it and it was a great movie. Leo is amazing. I love all the movies he has made. Have you seen any of Leo's interviews? He's so adorable, he's still so much like a little kid, which means he really can act because how he is on interviews is so far from his characters in movies.

I haven't seen any of his interviews, I've read a couple and those were interesting. With this movie he showed me how good he could be and in other movies afterwards it just reinforced that opinion.

This was a great movie. It was so said about the queen not being able to show who she really loved.I could not picture any other actors but the ones that played them for the roles. It was well cast and written.
