Which Laptop should I buy?

In this plethora of laptops, I really cannot decide which one will be the most suitable for me. Is there anyone, who can guide me with his / her personal experience?
Is that available on instalment in India?
What are the things necessary to look at before making the final choice for a particular brand?

dear prasanta, last night, I was watchig NDTV late, and they presented a special documentary on laptops! it seems there are laptops that you can risk buying for as low as Rs.20000! please visit their website ndtv.com and search for yesterdays 'special feature' articles. It was a documentary of around 20 - 30 minutes.
