Hi. I have rated other people discussions but my earnings didn't change. The only earnings I see so far is for each reply I give to everyone elses discussions. Am I doing something wrong? I also tag every discussion, but my earnings do not increase more than a cent. Im new so maybe I'm not doing this right. I did start a new discussion, but the only increase I seen from that so far was from me posting the discussion. Help from anyone is grealty appreciated. Thanks alot to all the nice helpful people out there.

The earnings formula is a closely guarded secret but this is how it works, without the actual money that is. Firstly we earn for starting a discussion but not for commenting on a response to that discussion. We also earn for responding to a discussion started by someone else, as well as any photos that we upload and relate to the topic of discussion. If we rate a response, discussion or a photo we do not earn money from it but we should still do it all the same. But we do earn a little extra if someone else rates our discussions, responses or photos positive. Also we earn a little extra if we get a best response to any discussion. I think it is important to rate responses, although only those which merit the rating. I do not rate every response as I believe that detracts from the whole merit system. With the best response, you give it to the one that you consider is the best of all of them. What I do is read through the responses to my discussions and rate them as I go along. Then once the responses have slowed down, I will give one a best response. The person doesn't have to agree with me but if they have a well thought out response and it is the best, they get it. :) I also rate the photos, if they are very good that is and of course many of them are in my opinion. That rating of the photo will also earn the person who uploaded it a little extra money. If you have any queries or do not understand anything that I have written, then please feel free to PM me for more information. :)

I have been here 5 months, and you 3 months. It still is a mystery. MyLot will not tell us, or let us discuss money on here. Your earnings will only go up for your postings, replys to others, pictures, and discussions from your post. The ratings we give eachother to help us with the star points.

It definitely is a mystery but I am almost positive that it has to affect our star rating and our earnings somehow. I have only noticed earnings for replying to others discussions too, but yesterday, it was a little bit different. I didn't reply to others as much as I was doing in a days time and I started a new discussion and seen about the same earnings, so that was a good thing for me to see.

According to you, the make shift to the program is already understood. The only thing you're doing is making more discussions related to the site FAQ instead of more useful discussions. Try in this angle, you may succeed definitely. Remaining every thing is good and your quality is also marginally nearer to perfect 10. Keep it up.

Thank you prasad. I have began to start some better discussions. I had to ask some questions to Mylot members about the site because the FAQ's did not fully tell me what I needed to know. Thank for the tips though. It is greatly appreciated.

We are supposed to rate other peoples discussions and responses. But we don't get paid more for doing it. We get paid more by others rating our posts and responses. So everybody should be rating and choosing best response. Here is what it says about rating in the FAQ's. 'The Discussion Rating System (DRS) allows users to rate the usefulness of topics, responses and comments on myLot. The goal of the DRS is to help keep the quality of myLot discussions as high as possible for all members. myLot members should rate discussions, responses, and comments based upon quality and usefulness. We are very excited about the DRS and encourage everyone to use it. The DRS is factored into our proprietary earnings algorithm, so this will help us properly reward valuable contributions to the myLot community.'

Very true. I have come to learn that here at Mylot. I do rate everyone and I hope they are also doing the same. I am trying to catch up on and choose a best response for some of my older discussions right now.

Pay isn't a one for one kind of thing. There are several ways to participate here, and from what I can see, the level of your participation counts, but not in a way you can easily see. I'm keeping track of as many factors as I can, and my overall average has increased from barely over a cent per post to almost two cents. Yesterday, I only increased my postings by 23, but my pay for the day went up to almost three cents.

I have been here for about 4 months now and I still can't figure out how their pay works here. I used to get around 5 1/2 cents a post...when my star was at a 94, now I only get about 4 1/2 cents a post...I always rate the topic, a couple responses and tag it. Sometimes I add a pic. I guess it's ok. Hope this helps, although I just realized that this discussion is 3 months old, lol. Good Luck!

I have noticed that also. I must have misunderstood someone when they told me we would earn by rating others. I do believe rating others helps us all out in the long run though.
