the need for that actually depends on the situation. yes, if you've got burns or if you've had an accident then it would be a relief to get that face fixed and stuff. but i'm really not into implants and stuff just so the person will look good. i don't know, it's kind of become a commodity these days. like beauty has a certain standard and if you fall short from that then you're not beautiful. i know it's cliche and yeah, roll your eyes if you want, but i still believe in enhancing your inner beauty coz that will somehow emanate. beauty for me is a matter of disposition. coz even if you've gone thru all sorts of surgery, if you're not really secure and confident about who you are then it all just defeats the purpose of it. plus it kind of degrades the person's worth. i mean if you're not beautiful as per a surgeon's standards then you're less than the person you see on the cover of the magazine. superficial

It all depends on the person how they will accept themselves...God created us like this so i think acceptance is important to every individual...however, some people are not contented for their body structures and figures so they will go through plastic surgery because they think they will look good and beautiful if they do it...but people who went through with this, should also know the bad effects that could impinge on them they might be became an addicted one...actually its also too expensive maybe some are doing this because don't know what they will do on their money... :)

I think plastic surgery is good for people who are seriously disfigured so that they cannot even lead a normal life. But other than that, I find it mostly unnecessary. Even if I were disfigured, I'd have to seriously think about whether I would get anything done about it or not.

For those who need it, I'm very glad the technology is available for them to take advantage of. And I don't only mean those who need it in a medical emergency sort of way either. Some people have very low self esteem caused by certain parts of their bodies, this can lead to depression or anxiety or countless other medical problems. If it can be solved by something like surgery, then more power to them. I think it's great that modern medicine has evolved enough to allow people to do this.

If it's going to totally change the way you look like, it may not be good because you are given with your looks to be unique in your own way. If it's to fix something that was hurt in an accident, it's understandable. I would love to get dimples some day... I just think it will be cute, but nothing more than that.

I agree that plastic surgery should be done for medical reasons. If you have it done just because you think your nose is too big or you dont like the wrinkles around your eyes, you could end up in the position of not knowing when to stop. you could end up looking like a certain Mr. M Jackson. Plus, you could end up with a really bad surgeon, any mistake and you'll be scarred for life. And it costs a lot of money.
