While I prefer wordpress over blogger, there's really no limit as to what you can blog about. Bascially no matter what subject you can think of someone, somewhere is searching for information on it. If you have a favourite hobby, have learnt something new in your job, have experience with anything - do a blog about it :-) Getting that first post is always the hardest, but once you have it you'd be amazed at how much you can suddenly find to write about. I have several blogs and websites in my profile (all on something different) I've discovered that I really enjoy making sites and blogs and while it might take longer initially, income wise it's a lot easier with way more potential than reading emails etc.

I have some websites dedicated to popular TV shows and started some Yahoo groups to compliment the sites. This drives traffic to the site and I make some extra cash that way.

Well, I have started blogging with blogger for the past one month. I didn't have much experience then, but I have collected a lot of info during the past one month or so and have a very good picture of getting things right. But unfortunately I have my exams just round the corner, so I can't afford to spend much time on my comp, let alone blogging. I'd suggest you also take a look at other service providers like Typepad before making a decision.
