Only one point per discussion in MyLot?

I've created quite a few threads/discussions ever since I've joined MyLot and even if some of them proove to be quite popular, I notice that my number rank just goes up one point, for the person who answers in the first place. I wonder if it's really relevant at all to your earnings to have popular discussions then? Because it sems that you're not getting much more for having a popular discussion than having one who gets a few replies and easily forgotten. What do you people think about this?

If by number rank you mean the number in () next to your name, that is only a count of the numbr of times you have posted a question or a response so it should only go up once per post. The number is the star is sort of a "quality" ranking, but only goes as high as 10. It is a reflection of how others and mylot ranks the quality of your posts.

Yeah, I know where you're trying to get, but I was just wondering if whether we are rewarded for having top quality discussions or not, but I guess it's irrelevant after all. Thanks for your answer anyway.

Oh, sorry, I misunderstood. Mylot claims you get more for "quality" posts, but I am not sure if that comes from their mystical calculating system or only if other users rate your discussion or replies positively (which can take days after your initial post to be rated). I do wish they would show a more detailed breakdown of the earnings so that we could know which of our posts earned best so we could learn from them. I have only earned about 2 cents a post, which is more than I would have gotten on Yahoo Answers, but I still wish I knew why things were given more value than others, too.

Quality doesnt seem to mean anything on here - I made twenty posts yesterday, at least ten of which were lengthy (at least 10 lines long) well thought out, detailed responses and I have only received 12 cents! Thats less than 1 cent per post. Yet when I started on here last week and didnt have a clue I was earning more for posting one liners! I seriously don't understand this system. My successful discussions havent received any more than those without responses either.

That can be quite desmotivating, but my advice is: don't give up! I've also started very slowly just like you, but have made 3$ during last night. I think it all comes down to matter of how much time you dedicate to the website. I'm noticing your star ranking isn't very high, so that could be another reason as well. Also, try to create more threads of your own, an interesting enough thread can raise up your earnings a lot.

I know what you mean... no one really knows what pays what on myLot. Its a secret and they wont let it out. I think that the more popular your discussion is the better your earning become. Well thats what i have read in a few posts from the other members. The better the quality the higher your earnings. So i guess the aim is to try and get as many responses as possible and keep it going. And as for your responses to other peoples discussionds, try and make them all longer than four lines if possible... that should help you

Yeah, I always make them at least 3 lines long and give my honest opinion on them, but then I read one line replies and people with a far more high ranking than mine and I lose some motivation for continuing at times...it's a bit unfair. You have a point in there about the discussions who happen to be popular though, I've made 3$ the last day by posting about the same ammount of posts as before, I guess the different is laying on a popular thread I have and my star ranking.
