I think photos are better than videos. I think videos are fun but photos are always captured with one's specialty. I mean, a person tries to take a picture at its best always, right?

Octopus, Virginia Aquarium - I took this with a Canon SD900 Power Shot on an aquarium setting. the camera is new I'm I'm trying out all the new settings and trying to figure them out.
I have a video camera but I haven't really tried to do any real video taping. Just family stuff. I guess I prefer photography over video. I It is more fun to try and get the effect you want. Here is a photo I took with my new Canon SD900. I want to make this one into a puzzle.

That is the first time I was able to get a photo of it. It was always in the rocks almost out of sight. And the day I took this it was moving all over the place. It paused just a moment when I snapped this. The reflection on top I thought made an interesting aspect of the photo.

I love photography better than video. I think a photograph says so much more just by looking at than a video.

I love both but I enjoy more with photos. With videos, I can only watch once or twice and that's enough or if I really like it I would compile some. With photos I enjoy it even after few years. I love making videos out of photos too.

I know! With photo albums, we can look at it over and over again but with videos, it seems a lil boring if you'll watch it twice or thrice.

I prefer Photography to video. I think more people enjoy a good photograph they can take a quick look at or study it whenever they want. With a video you have to have the equiptment to view it and then have the time to view the video to find the part you want.

I agree with you. Photography is way better than videos and we don't always need an equipment to view it.

I am still learning to take great pictures but I love photography. i think it is way better than videos because it actually captures the moment. Maybe the same goes with video but its different. A picture changes each time too just like nature. And you capture something different of the same thing too and thats what amazes me. Plus u get to see alot of talent in taking pictures. You see alot of imagination and skills as well. its not just merely the point and shoot thing. Its always being at the right moment and feeling it with ur cam.

Of course, pictures.. pictures.. are always be my top choice. It really captures every moments in our life, either we are happy, sad, enjoy or even excited.. Photography is one way of ecpressing the ideality, uniqueness, creativity and even making stories. That's why I really love taking pictures. My digital camera is my tool to witness every single moment, every feeling, every capture moment of my life. I am fond of reminiscing memories through my old and new pictures, it makes me smile and even to laugh a lot. pictures and memories are my life.

My experience has been that people like to take videos and will shoot many hours and never look at it again or view it once. With a photograph people will frame it for display, put it in a scrapbook, share it on the internet with family and friends or carry it in thier wallet or purse for years. When was the last time someone pulled out a video to share with you and brag about it. When my son was serving in Iraq we talked about us sending video to him but then thay had problems finding something to play it on. He was thrilled to get a letter that contained photos of the family doing things. It was something he could carry with him and look at it anywhere , any time. I much perfer the photograph over the video.

Absolutely! Pictures are way better than videos since we can bring it with us and display it wherever we want to put it. Videos are too much hassle.

I think it depends on the situation. When I travel I always have my vidocamera with me, but usually I take photos. Sometimes pictures can tell more than thousand words and you can make real art just photographing, even if you are an amateur.

Sometimes even if you took a picture or video on the same event, pictures will always be the best way to reminisce.

That is a great question. I am going to sit on the fence and say I like both video and photography but for different reasons. In a lot of ways video is more difficult to achieve, a photo is a moment in time, but for video you need a steady hand, can't necessarily stage the shot because the idea is things are moving. I think video allows you to capture more memories physically to tape, unlike photos which as I say are capturing moments. However, I think you create more stunning material with photographs, you are able to set shots up more easily. I was starting to lean more towards photographs until I got a HD video camera - that is amazing, it is literally like watching digital photograph quality images one after the other.

Have you ever taken video, then many months or even years later wonder just what you were videoing? I have. I've even sat for quite a while trying to figure it out. I think with a video camera, you just turn it on and roll away. With a camera, you always have a specific subject in mind. It's generally easy to determine what that subject was, even years later. I think I can be more artistic with a camera than a video.

It depends upon the quality of the material. If the quality of the video is good then i'd be up for it else no.Basically i'm a photographer so i love photographs mainly.

Photos and videos are both great to me. I find it hard to say which is better. They are different in medium. Of course, it could be argued that videos are photos set in motion. I like having the audio on video. Photos can capture someting very special though. Hmm tough choice...

i prefer photographs to videos...however i do like videos as they can really capture the moment...but they can be corrupted or earased alot easier
