Do you think mylot should limit the Posts per day??

i think there are so many posts made each day and a lot of this posts are non sense. i understand people post a lot of discussions everyday to increase their earnings but it seems only few make good discussions and a lot make silly discussions. some user post around 100discussions everyday and out of these i suppose 75 are not quality ones. if posting of nonsense, non-qualitative discussions will continue to rise in numbers i bet mylot will become a site of craps. i commend mylot for their efforts to make prevent spam and maintain the quality of the site by the so called mylot star rating system, and the deletion of some posts. but would you think limiting the posts per day would be a good idea?

I've thought of that myself but I notice that those discussions we classify as "inane" and "nonsense" are getting quite a number of responses too compared to quality posts. I enjoy quality discussions and always spend a lot of time looking for posts that I can relate with but I kind of feel that maybe it's just a numbers game after all and everything is just for money and people who enjoy discussions will soon be outnumbered and overpowered. Either mylot will become a site of craps as you put it or eventually it will self-destruct.

yes i agree with that. oftentimes these non-sense discussions get more responses than the quality ones. when i was new here i made the same mistake of posting silly discussions because all i could see were silly discussions like what is your favorite color.. im afraid new users in mylot will do the same thing and mimic what other users are posting.

at last, somebody's talking. i also want to learn something, but it really makes me angry when some 'lower quality' or simpy stupid discussions get a lot of responses. and sometimes i also fall for that (because it's in the top discussion page and i too lazy to search for discussion to response to) and i hate myself for doing it.

u r right u get more responses for stupid discussions like ...i lost my dog or which color of clothes u r wearing? type.... its not in our hands to control what kinda discussions be posted on mylot, afterall, if u dont like the post just ignore and go ahead with ur quality posts and try to mark them negative, thts the only thing we can do.

If the posts are limited then 75% of users will quit mylot as they're here for sole purpose of money online. So, let them post all the non-sense they need, but feel happy that mylot is keeping an eye on all these activities and deletes any unwanted/spam posts. Moreover if a person posts 100 in a day it is reasonable. If anybody crosses these limits then there comes the less quality and repeated posts from them.

I feel as you do about this. I try to give good quality responses and i haven't started very many discussions as it seems like the ones I have thought about have been done a lot.

Very good suggestion and I think mylot should take note of this and try to implement at the earliest.

I dont think there should be a limit on posts becuase that wouldnt be fair to those of us who do make quality posts BUT I htink that blocking should be a feature made to us..that way the memebers who constantly make B.S posts and threads can be ignored so those of us who are quality posters dont have to deal with them ya know..

YES IT IS TRUE THAT DISCUSSIONS MUST BE MORE MEANINGFUL, BUT HOW IS THE REGULATION DONE? IT IS BETTER IF EVERYONE MAKES A CONSCIOUS EFFORT NOT TO START A NON-SENSE DISCUSSION...

I see that you are new here. If you will read the rules you will find that you are not to use AAll capital letters as that is shouting. just for your information.

hehehe. just excuse anilreddy this time. he is new to mylot. anyway, anilreddy next time dont use all capital letters in your discussions or responses because it has a bad implication, as if you are shouting or yelling.

i don't think so that's not because how much we can posts the respond per day but i hope mylot can give some good earning for good respond or new discussion not from how much our posting

i don't know how that would work.but i agree that it would make people stop posting useless discussions.it would surely stop me from doing so.lol..i don't think that mylot would be agreeing with your point.they are paying us using the money from the traffic that this site is getting and if we only post a certain amount of discussions then the revenue from mylot will get lower.that directly effects our payments.

thanks for your comment. i think the other option would be to limit our posts depending on our star rating. the higher the star rating the more posts a person can make.what do you think?

It is definitely not a good idea. If you are a good poster and you believe that your posts are quality posts, would be glad if you were limited to post only 10 post even if you are a quality poster. It is good enough for Mylot to allow us to post as many posts as we want. If we want spammers out, then we all must be vigilant to report to Mylot all those people who posts just to earn. It will be unfair for you and for me if just because of spammers our posts will be limited.

I think there needs to be some restrictions on the number of discussions being started, because it's unbelievable just how much junk is out there. I swear I see like 10 threads all about the same darn thing.

Now here i agree that there are too many threads on the same topic for sure. I am just saying that i do not think that there should be a restriction to mylot users for responding and discussing!

I appreciate ur views, but i think mylot shud continue on as it is functioning rite nw. Limiting the numbr of posts wud limit our earning potential as well. If mylot guys are not having a problem, then y do u? U r talking of other nonsense posts, but i think urs is also one of them. The more the number of posts, the more popular will mylot be. So, they will never thinking of limiting the numbr of posts per member. Bu it wud be gud idea to scrap u of ur membership, coz ur thots are provoking thm to do so.

Limiting the posts is nonsense. But mylot can lessen the number of unrelated posts by asking the users mark the posts unrelated and checking it by themselves. That will reduce the number of unrelated or stupid posts to a maximum.

I think it is a good idea with max post based on user Rating..

star - green star
i think that is a good idea too. the higher our star rating the more can we post discussions.. this will encourage users to improve their stars by making quality discussions.

I do not think that mylot should the limit the number of posts only due to the presence of some spammers on mylot. This would be like limiting the thoughts and comments of a mylot user. The mylot should form a group of users, which shall act as deterrent to spam posts, and should award for pointing out and segregating such posts.

I do not think it is really necessary, if people are posting garbage chances are people will not respond and it will get boring for them. Let my lot police that stuff and we can just enjoy it for what it is.

It would be even better if each person had a limit instead of a website limit, because then fo rthose who cant get on mylot untill arround bed time they wont be able to post a discussion because the limit has been reached. I agree with you there are too many stupid "discussions" and something should be done about it. Then again that is where we come in and help mylot clean up the site by reporting the stupid discussions so they can get rid of them.

I am more sick of see repeats I think they should look more into that I mean you have to search for 5 to 10 to find a good topic or one that is not a repeat it gets old after awhile.

Ihave been a user for one month and I have only posted four posts. I try to make them worth posting, most of the time I am asking advice. But I have had only one post that has gotten more than 10 responses. Maybe some of mine are frivolous and I don't realize it. I do think there should be a limit on it because people who have been here less than I have have posted 20 discussions. I think if there were a limit than some discussions would have a better chance.

I guess it's better for myLot staff to limit the number of posts each day and delete those that are non-sense and silly discussions. But I think the majority will be against it if they only allow 20-50 posts each day.
