Intellect comprises of 3 entities - wisdom (knowledge), understanding(analysis) and meditation (concentration). And this is not according to me. This is according to kabbalah. first you use your interest and concentration (Daas) to analyse the details and data you have. slwoly by analysing the details and explanations, you will be getting the concept. And that is when you will be getting the new knowledge. thats what happens in a classroom. a teacher explains a concept to a student, by first arousing their interest in the subject, and then goes on to give the explanations one by one, then goes on to explain how to analyse it. Only after this the students will get the knowledge which is in the teacher's mind. Regarding brain, its an organ, which helps to grasp the perceptions and informations, and also helps to analyse. But for the concentration, you need to have your heart in whatever you are studying. And then to finally get the juice of knowldge out of the explanations, you should even have your soul invested in it. Otherwise you will be just getting a very cold knowledge which really do not delight you.
