I prefer Linux over windows. Linux is open source and freely available Windows is close source and costs huge. Linux firewall is good windows firewall is bad. There is various distro available for linux no distros. One advantage of windows is configuration of devices.

I agree with that. Windows dominate the market thats why Linux was born. Linux is better since its free and there are people working to make it better for everyones consumption. Windows have some advantages but in the future Linux can catch up with that.

That's not true. There are lots of linux distros with very user friendly graphical user interfaces that work just like Microsoft's Windows. Try Ubuntu. Furthermore, if your computer is getting a little old & slow you might benefit from installing a slim linux system, rather than upgrading to Vista or perhaps spending a fortune on a new computer.

I use windows XP. I wanted to change to linux but its so hard to migrate. we have to learn new things in order to be able to use linux such as commands etc. And there is the software issue, most software are imcompatible with linux except those designed to be used with linux.

I use Linux most of the time except for some media applications and for some peripherals which are not Linux compatible. For that I keep a double operating system in the hard drive. * 85% of the time I'm in Linux cuz there's lots of crap to catch on the web. Linux is built to be very difficult to infect. Not impossible but not wide open as is Windows.

i use both windows and Linux Linux specially for browsing internet and downloading as linux is having very very less virus threat instead using firewalls to check each byte that is being downloaded. i just download the stuff i want in linux and i boot to windows check with anti-virus and go.

I liked windows awhile ago and when I made my switch to linux I don't want to go back it runs really fast and has a much better GUI than Windows and it isn't as bad as vista with the inablity to turn off some start up programs
