Have you ever tried flavored pasta?

I got some Lemon Basil pasta at the farmers market and it was fab! The same booth had at least 25 different flavors of pasta. Have any of you tried any unique flavors? What was your favorite? Which ones didn't taste quite the way you had hoped?

Well yes i have tried flavored pasta.. i dont know which flavour it was though - but it smelled/tasted like 'pork' - not one of my favorite tastes,i'd say..

Hmm... that doesn't sound at all appetizing to me either. Maybe it's time to try something a bit different -- something flavored with vegetables or herbs would be my suggestion!

I have never tried Lemon Basil pasta, but it sounds delicious! And, I would love to try it. :) I think that I have tried some spicy pasta, but I am not sure exactly what it was called. It was just spicy and great!! But, thanks for the discussion! :D

Spicy could be yummy too, depending on what they use to make it spicy. I find I can tolerate a whole lot of some spices, but others I can only take very little!

i love basil fettucini.... great also are the stuffed pasta shell like the mozarella regattoni with sausage tomato sauce.

I have never tried flavored pasta. It seems like it would taste really good. I love pasta so maybe I will get enough courage to pick up a box. I don't really want to buy it and not like it.

here in italy we have mushrooms pasta, paprika pasta and other very interesting ways to create it. I personally love mushroom pasta but the original one is the best!

Oh Yummy, mushroom pasta sounds really interesting and nice, Im always on the look out for different styles of food, and your mushroom pasta sounds delicious, thanks. I've eaten pumpkin, potato, spinach, tomato and plain pasta once in the same dish, it tasted absolutely delicious, especially since Nonna made it.

Oh yes I love flavored pasta. My fave is spinach. I am a punk about trying new things. But I have tried pesto flavor as well, it was just okay. Lemon basil I guess I would try that with some type of scampi. I usually fix the shrimp and spinach fettucini with the spinach flavored fettucini pasta.

Ooo -- spinach is a great one. I've had it too. Haven't tried pesto though. Might have to look into that! I'm with you about trying new things -- love having more variety on the table!

I have tried sun dried tomato, lemon pepper, and spinach pastas. They were all most excellent. We don't have 25 different flavors around here... wish we did... I love pasta and it would be great to have more flavored noodles.

Sounds delicious but I haven't tried any yet. I have found chow mein noodles in a little box at Walmart for 87 cents and i fell in love with the thai peanut flavor. I will have to try the flavored pasta too.

Oh, I know what you mean. The difference here is that the flavoring is in the pasta itself, not something you add in the cooking process.

OOOO i wish, i love Pasta and would probably dabble in flavored pasta. I've never even hear of flavord pasta..do you by chance remember what the brand was called of the pasta you bought.. I wouldnt mind maybe finding them on the internet and finding retali locations or buying online

Well, the stuff I bought was homemade and sold at a booth at the farmer's market, so it's not really a brand. You might try Whole Foods, Central Market, or whatever specialty food stores you have in your area.

I am going to keep an eye out for this. I have not seen it in our area, but I have not made a point of looking for it either. It sounds yummy indeed. We really like our pasta

You may have to try specialty stores to find the more unique varieties. I don't think I've ever seen them in the supermarket.

I have never tried flavoured pasta. I've seen it when I've gone grocery shopping, but never bought any. Lemon Basil sounds awesome!! I think I'm gonna go and find that next time I go shopping!!!

I have not tried flavored pasta and I am a very pickey eater so depending on how it looks I am not sure if I would try it. I do like the theory but the risk may not be worth it in the end.
