Have you ever placed the same bet over and over until you won?

An unnamed man who placed the same bet for ten years finally won. Amazingly, after spending only a total of seven pounds British money, he won the equivalent of £142,590!!! Do you have 'lucky numbers' that you bet over and over? Have you ever won a bet of any kind? Feel free to answer any of my questions, or just share you thoughts on this news story. Well, I guess in that guy's case, persistence pays. ha ha My partner seems to think that if he plays the same Power-ball numbers every time, then one day he will win. But I am just not a betting person. I can think of something else to put that money toward. Especially, since my partner does not play every week...what happens if one week he does not play and does not look to see if his number came up? But hey, it's him playing the Power-ball and not me.

I guess his persistency did pay off! And, that is a lot of time to be persistent. Haha. I don't think that I can be persistent about something like that. But, I have never had a Power-Ball or anything like that to be persistent on! :DD

I don't know if you would call it a bet, but I do have a 'lucky number' that I always pick! When people say to choose a number, I always pick that same number. And, if someone else picks that number...I feel not as lucky because I have to use my back up 'licky number'!! LOL But, I cant tell you what it is because it wouldn't be MY SECRET 'lucky number'! :D And, my lucky number works a lot!

This is an interesting strategy. Technically, his chances for winning improved every time he bet. Practically speaking, his chances were the same as if he was picking a different number every time. The latter approach does give one the sense of a dog chasing it's tail, or of a lost person walking in circles.

I tried that once in a dice game and it took me all night just to get on the board. But it could work out differntly and then the odds could be with you.

I dont gamble. I dont have the money to waste and it is a religious preference. I often wonder how people do come up with the numbers that they use.

I usually don't bet at all. Butif I played certain numbers over and over and they didn't hit, I'd probably take that as a sign to try something else!

I'm a gambler and have to say that I never really bet on the same thing until it won... All my bets are on pure emotion on whether I think that they will win at that given moment... I like to feel the hot numbers!

Lucky man! I do the same numbers on the lotto every week and I've been doing that for years! The most I have won on those numbers is £100
