It shows your current rank. Ranks are from 1 to 10. This tells your value to the mylot community and the quallity of your discussions.

I guess the rating system works with other users votes. If you get a "+" for your disscusion or an answer to a disscusion then your rating increases. If you get a "-" then it decreases. So, in other words, all the mylot community gives ratings
