How Serious are you about Purchasing Items on Sale?

I have a friend who every now and then we will meet up on the weekends at the mall and go shopping. Now, I will check the sale papers and see what's out there, but my girlfriend, she is like the best at it. She will go to the stores where she saw a good sale going on (via paper, tv, internet etc), Little notepad in hand, coupons if any...see will even wait until a item go on sale, IF, the size is not gone by then. She is the same way with her grocery shopping. She will go to 2 and 3 stores to get the items she need, yes coupons in hand also... I admit, she got some nice cloths, shoes, even nice things in her home. But she is a Sale-Fanatic!!!! I hardly ever see her buy something just outright without being on sale. I know it's patience and good shopping skills and true she don't mind waiting, nor mind driving to different stores...That's too much for me...If I catch the sale cool, but if there is nothing I'm looking for, I don't really go through papers like she do... Is there anyone else that is like this? That rather wait until it goes on sale before you buy it or catch all sales? Or are you rather like me, you happen to catch a sale cool, if not, I just buy it?? Please share...

Call me next time!!LOL Seriously, I shop for bargains but I am not for the standing in lines and riding all over town mess. Time is money and gas cost money. So basically, what I think I saving I have probably already spent in my time and gas.

I guess I'm a bit of both. I had belonged to a yahoo group last year for couponing but I have gotten lazy lately. I might not necessarily go to 2 and 3 stores for my groceries but what I usually do is wait for the flyers to come in and see which store has the most on sale and then I'll do my weekly shopping there. I would say I am frugal though. I do watch for sales as much as I can and I love a good bargain. I might be more this way since I became a single Mom cause you have to save where you can.

There was a time when I made a list of sale items and bought them from those stores. Now I just buy what I need. But, I head for the sale stuff first.

I am not that good at sales either. I will browse through them and hope to get something on sale. If what I want is not on sale and is not real pricey I will purchase at the regular price. If it is a big pricey item, like camera, computer, phone, etc. I will wait for it to go on sale and I have even watched an item go down in price several times before I purchased it. Most of the time I just purchase what I think I want and need.

I love the sales, but I don't go deliberately out of my way to find them. I do generally wait to do clothes shopping until the sales, I stay out of the high street normally as it's too pricey. With grocery shopping, sometimes I use coupons, but I don't actively search them out.

I dont bother whether there is sale or not but my family members bothers about it... Whenever i go to shop, if i like anything i buy it if i have sufficient amount in my pocket... I never bother about the range, the thing is that i must have sufficient amount in my pocket... I buy only branded items... I dont like cheap things or you can say unbranded... But if there is sale then i buy more in quantity than else...

That is very cool that you can do that...Not everyone can be as fortunate to just go buy all branded items.. Some rather wait or catch a good sale, Whether it's branded or unbranded...thank you for responding...

I'm like you. If I see a sale then that's cool and if it's not on sale and I need it then I'll still buy it. I'm not the type of person to go to 2 or 3 different stores though to get something that is on sale. I do look through the sales paper and if I see something that I want I might go get it if I'm out that way but I don't usually make a special trip for it.

for me the entire fun of shopping is the SALE. I hardly ever buy anything that is not on sale unless I need it. Otherwise I get upset when I see something on sale the next week and I have already paid full price. I am a big shopper and I shop a lot , but for me finding the deal is the thing that makes me shop a lot. It is not like I have a lot of money to shop with so the better the deal the better the day I am having! I LOVE IT!

I'm all about the sale also-- Not on everythng but alot of things- I do this so that I can go crazy on other things that aren't on sale. Most of my daughters clothes are not ever on sale- Limited Too.. so we spend the money here and save it on groceries or even my clothes- I always check the flyer each Sunday- If Penney's is having a killer sale on dress clothes - I am there- I have to dress up at work. I also use coupons on groceries and go to different stores for the best prices and sales-- Most of them are close enough so its not an issue of wasting gas. I love being frugal-- I often brag about getting groceries for half or less than half the cost--

My mother is pretty serious about buying things on sale, lol! Sometimes, every once in a great while, she even gets things that I think she would _never_ buy, since she is pretty frugal and doesn't like to spend a lot. Well, as soon as I see a surprising item in our house, like a brand name item that she usually wouldn't buy, I really d on't have to ask - I know that she got it on sale, or with a rebate, or something like that! *laugh* She has really taught me to be pretty frugal, as well, but I don't know if I'll ever be quite at the level as the friend that you were describing. It just sounds like so much work, and I'm a bit too lazy for all of that. At times, anyway. *laugh* ^_^

Never have been one to clip coupons myself. I am an impulse buyer, thats why I have stock in walmart ..lol ... I just buy what I need when I need it, to heck with sales and coupons I really don't think they save you anything anyways...Winn Dixie grocery store sometimes will kick out like a ten or fifteen dollar coupon now that I do use...I may be blond but not always ...LOL

I love sales but I won't go out of my way for it. Although when I go to stores, the first thing I go for is the sale rack. I usually find what I want on there. You can't go wrong on a sale. :)

If a shop at a little cheapie store, I have no qualms about paying full price. However, when I go to Macy's, Casual Corner, Nordstroms, etc., I ain't about to pay full price for anything they have. I'm not going to blow all of my mad money on one outfit when, if I shop wisely and on sale, I can have several outfits. I love clothes and shoes, and the more I have, the better. Therefore, I am willing to wait until my dream dress is marked down. If my size is all gone by then - oh well!

I love shopping the sales, but I won't buy something just because it's on sale. I also hate to buy anything I haven't had my eye on and tried on once.

I am with it.I think we get the best deals while purcahsing on sale.I think it is quite a nice thing to purchase from sale.Only thing needs to be checked is that the items are in proper shape.

I am more like you in that I will just buy it if I see it there, even if it is not on sale. I try and look for sales first but I will not go store jumping just to get a particular item, especially with gas prices these days. I would have been like your friend way back when gas prices were about a dollar or less a gallon. I think it is too much of a hassle to go all over the places for a particular item.

I'm like you are. If there is a sale fine, but I'm not going to run all over to different stores. If they don't have what I want oh well. My husband is one that will buy whether things are on sale or not. I try to wait but if I really need the item I'll buy it.

I am not that much of a sale shopper, but I do like to get good deals. And, especially, if I don't really need it. If it is something that I really need, and it cannot wait, then I will get it for the regular price. But, mostly, I shop for fun, so it is good to get a better deal, than what the actual price was.

i am too in favor of sales provided its done by big companies. Im worried that the product might have damages, especially when you are buying in bulk. So we really have to be very careful in choosing.
