I usually rate and respond. It's simple for me to do both and doesn't take much time. I enjoy reading the posts and responding to the ones that catch my attention.

I rate person by it's response, comments and also by discussions. Whenever i feel the discussion is good, i'd rate them too. I think it's good to rate people to ensure that quality discussions are posted here at myLot.
