I'm not a parent yet so I am curious. I've seen parents that spank their kids to the point that it is already disturbing., :S

It think that is the worst way to discipline a kid simply because that doesn't teach them a lesson but rather teaches them that they shouldn't do something because the fear stops them. Besides i think its against the law to spank kids.

Spanking is okay as long as the kids understand why they are being spanked. =)

Spanking has been used by allot of generation and it has proven to be effective way to disciple the children BUT it does bring physiological harm to the children. It is kinda like a double edge sword and I wouldn't encourage parent to use this method. There are other ways to discipline a kid with out hitting them. ground, no TV for a week, doing house chores and etc. If you want to discipline a teenagers, grounding and cutting pocket money is a good ways. I not a parent but this is what I thought and I hope this can help you to have some perspective .

Sadly, some parents spank their children to the point that their kids develop fear instead of getting to know what they did wrong. That is just sooo unfortunate. Some kids even becomse rebelious after being spanked.

i have 3 kids, two girls, 25 and 20 and a boy 13. i neve spanked them. we have no right to do that. we always talked out ion the round table what was wrong and what we can do to prevent such situations. i dont regret it because all 3 are very clöever, honest, polite and think the same. its sure hard sometimes, but when i get turned to 180 degrees, i take a timeout, go out of the house and wait for 10 minutes to settle down. for us that was the best solution
