When would you consider yourself as rich?

How much do you think you would have to be earning to consider yourself rich? If I could pay off my lease for my apartment, know that I have enough savings to live out my old age comfortably without having to depend on others I will consider myself rich.

I would consider myself to be rich when i have enough money to live on without having to go to work ever again.
I would have to have a large enough sum of money in the bank that generated enough interest to become my main income. - so somewhere in the region of £500,000 at 5% would be nice for starters. (over £1500p/m)
(I have got to start doing more mylotting!! hee hee)
