Anyone out there ever picture yourself in a video when your singing a song? I've done this since as long as I can remember - not every song but certain ones. I guess probably the ones I relate to the most and could picture myself performing. It might have something to do with the fact that I use to want to be a singer when I was younger. Anyway I just get this idea in my head of what I would be doing and how I would look. One that really stands out in my head (cause I use to listen to and sing it a lot) is Pat Benatar's "You & I" off her Gravity's Rainbow album. I always pictured I'd be in a window singing sadly out of it or something...lol...I'm a goof! I guess I never thought to actually try to pull it off. I'm a bit of a perfectionist though so maybe I assumed I wouldn't like the finished product. So am I alone?

If you think you are a goof, how do you think I must feel when driving down the road, holding the steering wheel with one hand and singing Melissa Ethridge's "I'm The Only One", at the top of my lungs into my imaginary hand microphone? ~Donna

I wanted to sing when I grew up too. And I have been told that I have the voice to carry me also. But I settled down having children and wouldn't want to tour around because I would miss them too dearly now. :)
I do love to dance also! And often I can picture me with others dancing or in a video with the artist dancing with them. I'm kinda a goof to then. ha ha

Great minds... I've been told that too. My friends would ask me for my autograph so they'd have it when I became famous. They're silly. I don't think the public life would suit me. I would love making, writing, and singing the music and even performing but the job doesn't end there. I would hate my face in magazine after magazine.

funny, but last october 7, my birthday, my brother shoot a video on me singing a "happy birthday to me" song. i was acting like a child. we were in the room and talking about funny things when i stood up and sang a birthday song for myself. it was so funny i can barely look at the video. i showed it to my boyfriend and he can't just stop laughing. he was nice and said i was cute.

That does sound hilarious!! It sounds like something my sister (or myself) would do - and it'd get caught on tape too. I love memories like that too. Thanks for sharing that story!
