Do they actually work or are most of them a short term fix? Anyone have any experience with taking a certain kind?

I think they work to an extent but realistically you should get to the root/core cause of your depression....I'm on Zoloft, my son takes Prozac and my husband is on Wellbutrin and each of them seem to work just fine for each of us though for my son and I it took some time to get the right doseage....and of course I know ppl who've had to try various types of anti depressants before finding the right one then they had to find the right dose as well...But regardless of what pill or pills you take, just taking them wont fix anything, it just candy coats it and makes life more bearable ya know...you really need to get to the heart of the problem IMO....Unfortunately though for some of us meds will be needed for a long long time even with the therapy...I'll probably be on meds for the rest of my life simply because the damage is extensive AND there are NUMEROUS hardcore issues to deal with.....My son on the other hand hopefully wont be especially consideringn he's still young ya know...
