I think you and me are lucky, because we found an avatar that catches the people's positive attention. I think the avatar in a site like this is a good tool, that we can live with well, or badly. If somebody can not use this possibility well, it is his/her problem. Of course it is not enough, as you could see in several discussions: Good avatar, but dumb user

well you can only make one first impression right..? it shouldn't be important but you do react if you see something funny.

Avatars are a personal choice, and the ones that I dislike are probably popular with other people. Many members claim that they use an avatar to recognise another member, but I have several friends who have changed their avatar and it has not made much difference to me because I still know their names. I have changed my avatar about 7 or 8 times so far, and will no doubt choose another one in due course.

Yes I agree I do tend to evaluate the avatars. I use them to let me know if I have already answered their discussion. The other avatars I can not see very clear I usually just try to remember their name. I have no idea why some people use of the ones they have. I am beginning to think the blurry ones are from their own cameras and they are shrunk so much from My Lot you can't see what they are.

Hi, well I do not give much attention to the avatars for members as I have seen some male members using a pic of hot girl! I feel the avatars here do not always show qualities of person at Mylot. I hope you dont feel my avatar is ugly!!

I think that the avatar shows the character of the person who wears it :) I'm nto sure do you like or dislike mine avatar but well - i like it very much and i wont change it even if someone would say it is horrible. ANd that is the main problem - people take the avatars because they have a good feeling with them , the like sometihng in this image or phoot or they just cant find anything better! Somehow it makes an effect, I do avoid the discussions of those with scary kind of avtars. The avtars have their presence.Thus subconsciously I evalute avtars.

I really dont like the aviators that are small and blurry. What is the point of having them then? Why didn't you just stick with the little green person? That would have been better!! But, I really don't mind other than that what peoples aviators are. They can just be a picture of themselves or some faerie....I don't mind at all. As long as it is appropriate!! LOL And, just like you, I do remember aviators more than the names. Or, I will just link the person as to what they commented on or started a discussion on. I really don't care what someone has in the avatar as long as it does not contain anything that most poeple would not view as acceptable for this type of website. If someone want some goofy avatar I am okay with it.

your right some are blurry and gee some ya realy do wonder what were they thinking BUt i try to get passed that and read what they right that helps some

Well my avAtar is just a picture of myself. I hope people don't think it's scary! I don't think we should "evaluate" them though. It's just part of a person's personality, and it's their choice as to what they put on there.

I'm like you I'm more apt to remember a avatar than a name. That's why it gets so confusing when the person is constantly changing their avatar. In my case my avatar represents my interests not so much me. I anything that has to do with horror, horror movies or halloween. So who else to best represent those interest but Freddy Krueger. And think that's how others pick their avatats, too. The only way I evaluate avatars is the more interesting or different the more likely I am to remember them.

yea that is how i rembmer people too, but my aviator is not really my car, it is someone's else i get the picture off the net, i do have picture of my own car, i keep chaning it i like new things, is the picture in your aviator you or someone else?

i make my own avatars using adobe photoshop cs2. i also make avatars for online games, its a hobby of mine, my current avatar is of skull with glowing eyes and i made a cool backround for it, i think it stands out from others.

I use the aviators as a quick way to see what my friends are saying and where they have been. I don't like to change mine too often now I've found one I like I've had it for ages and I like when people keep the same one or similar ones that I can follow,.

You are right, some of them are just terrible. I am like you, I know my friends by their avitars not names.

I spend 12 hours looking for my Aviator. I am not here often, because I work 2 shifts, but today I have day off. I don't have many friends yet, but some Aviators are so ugly.

I notice what you are saying is true, but it does not effect me, I just respond to discussions that interest me enough to answer. The Aviators are just better than seeing a name to me. Yours is very pretty, you do not see many platinum blondes here in the US, last time I really saw them is in Seattle, Wash.

Avatars always stand out to me. I'm quick to recognize them, and I'll admit I do sort of skip over ones that are blurry or busy or out of focus. And I always get a little 'meh' when I see two people using the same avatar. But avatars are a very, very personal thing to me - they're how we represent ourselves.

I didn't know we could rate the avatars...but I am definitely with you...I can remember my friends or other people here by their avatar and the avatar is important because it give us a fast idea and a first idea of the person that is behind it...this is one of the reason I don't like talking with people who don't choose an avatar..and this is another reason I become confused when people change their...I think this is to be done only if we find another avatar who best represents us...otherwise I hope everybody keeps his or her avatar...and yes I love your present avatar better than the one you used for some days...now my friend has this special particular face and i like looking at this picture of a lady you chose!!!
