People in commodities are bigtime traders, they handle transactions several hundred times the value of their money. How is it possible for an average guy who has about few hundred bucks at their disposal to engage on this venture? Is there any possibility that they can also get into this market... In reference to the movie "Trading Places", let us discuss our perception to it.

To be honest, I do not really know how that works and what really happens with that.

You probably need more than a few hundred bucks to get started. But in commodities or options, you are not necessarily buying the goods or stocks, you're paying for the option to buy a certain quantity of something at a given price. You can make money betting on whether the price will go up or down. You can do something similar by buying stocks on margin.
