Swapping CLOTHES...Potential for a fun Party

Pick out the clothes you never wear, then throw a Swap party, where all your friends trade (a.k.a. "recycle") clothes from their closets. Serve wine, swap 'til everyone drops and you've got yourself a contender for party of the year.Free clothes, anyone? Swapping clothes is just another form of recycling. More closet space for you (or at least less closet space consumed by clothes you never wear). Like having free personal stylists for a night. Nobody knows your style sensibilities better than your BFFs.Send tree-free invites to all your friends. Tell them each to bring 5 or so items of totally wearable clothing that they never wear. Stock your place with cocktails and wine. Set up a rack or heavy-duty clothesline in your "viewing area." Um, ambient lighting people, ambient lighting, please. What if more than one person wants the same item (bound to happen)? Each has to try it on, and the rest of the "personal stylists" decide who sports it best.

I am almost scared that I have created a monster. I asked about 20 because half the time alot don't show up. Now I have had a steady stream of phone calls from ladies who had "heard" thru the grapevine and want to come as well. I have 35 yeses. Yikes!!!

I can't even get all the thoughts down here that raced through my head upon reading your post! My first visual was a bunch of friends 'half -crocked' looking much like bag ladies in my oversized clothing! Secondly, I was acclaiming, OMG, what a great idea. Thirdly, I was reminded of a toy-trade that my church did years ago that was along the same lines and was very successful. Okay, this is just a splendid idea Ally! I am a nurse and we nurses grow tired of our scrubs, what a great way to make sure they are used until there is no life left in them! I seriously will try this when warmer weather approaches and we can get out on my back deck for the party! Hey, I could sell tickets to the neighbors whose back decks face mine.....

I never heard of this kind of swapping. But not a bad idea. I am sure it wil be fun. Yes, it will be really interesting to see if more than one person want same item:). I think this swapping idea can be used for others item also. Like decorating item or kitcen item. Because you never know with what item you got bored, that can catch other's interest.

That is a really neat idea! I'd never heard of a clothes swapping party before, but it would definitely be interesting and a fun new way to get rid of some old clothing that you really aren't using anymore, whilst getting some new items to wear! ^_^ Cool! Of cousre, I would think that it would work better if you have at least a few friends who are near to your size in clothing. Otherwise, it might be a little difficult to swap. My best friend from years ago is like half a foot shorter than me, loL! We couldn't really swap anything very easily *laugh* But anyway, this sounds like a great new party idea that I'd never heard of before. Thank you for posting about it! ^_^
