Are you a Wiccan

January 27, 2007 7:16am CST
My ancestor on my Mums, Mums side was a gypsy I believe. Why do I think this? we are very psychic in our family and I do have a great sense of faith in the supernatural. I have made contact with spirits and I decided to develop this skill. So I started to study Wicca, is any one else Wiccan, or would admit to being Wiccan?

I'm not Wiccan but I am Pagan and a practicing Witch and have been for 10+ yrs..For the most part in the easy labeling terms I'm an Eclectic Witch...the not so easy labeling ways you could say I'm a practitioner of Witchcraft, Vodou and Hoodoo as well as N.American Spirituality and am a Pagan, Buddhist Occultist LOL

I think I am a solitary practitioner, or a Hedge Witch, we are supposed to recycle everything and I do try to recycle what I can. We live in harmony with nature, also something I try to do. This is my third year as a practicing witch although I really do need to hit the books again and study for my 2nd Degree in Wicca and in Reiki.

Woo Hoo! I'm not a Wiccan, nor do I "believe" in Wicca per se - but I'll sit up and take notice of anything where Prue, Phoebe, Piper & Page are concerned! I cried and cried and cried myself to sleep when Prue was killed. How could they? As regards Spirits - I think there are more things than men would be willing even to imagine, but at back of it all there would seem to be just two sides to the coin. One of the Catholic Saints - I forget which, but a woman as I recall - once commented that it's as well that we can't see the evil spirits which populate the atmosphere around us, otherwise the Sun would be entirely blocked out. And I believe her.

You're lucky to have Wiccan friends, my two best friends believe in the paranormal / supernatural but that is how far they will go (I think). I haven't talked to them about me studying the Wiccan ways. But if ever I'm sure they'll respect my decision as they are very open minded.

I am a Wiccan and have been so for 2 or 3 years. I have always felt close to the supernatural, but never knew why or for what reason. I believe I might have an ancestor who was a Wiccan who my relatives don't talk about. I communicate with the faerie folk and and am studying more of the Wiccan way all the time. My boyfriend is Catholic, but he helps me in my studies and is one of the people who believes Wiccans are not evil.

My father once told me I had a great Aunt or some such that was believed to be a witch. But she was quiet and kept to herself, so lots of rumors started. But I like to think she was. I'm not wiccan, or pagan, or even christian for that matter. But that doesn't mean i'm not aware of the spirituality involved. I dabbled in wicca when i was younger, but I found there were a few too many people involved for the wrong reasons. To piss off mom and dad, being the biggest one. I also don't believe anything is purely "supernatural". Not saying there aren't spirits, or anything like that. i just think, one day, science will evolve to a place that can define why it happens. (a reason for everything, ah you can tell I was raised christian). However, I do believe that humans can do amazing things, and can tap into parts of the subconcious, and 'supernatural' that many christians try to pretend isnt there. Or if they DO experience something like it, they'll claim they had a vision, saw god, an angel. Something like that. Personally, wicca is too defined for me. Many have rules and guidelines on how to act, what to do, that sort of thing. And I prefer being free from those restrictions in my spirituality, so I've began following Tao. I think it's very closely tied to aspects of Wicca though. But I do study wicca, still. Herbs, candles, satchets. Those sort of things are commonplace around my house. Definately a wiccan "science", though im not devoted enough to claim I'm wiccan. ^.^
