My daughter loves to cook and sometimes caters so she is always starting me on something new, which most of the time I don't need because of calories, but usually love and will fix anyway. She does a dipping bread. You take a small bowl and add about 1 Tbs. of olive oil, 2-4 Tbs. balsmic vinegar (adjust to taste), and any type of seasonings you like such as rosemary or italian or mix a couple together. Take italian bread or any other firm bread you like and cut or break into small pieces then dip and eat!! I love this and it makes a good appetizer or finger food for a party. If you have any other dipping bread recipes please feel free to share them!

Ohh I love this combination! I had it a couple of times when we went to an Italian restaurant in Hot Springs Arkansas and also in Boston,MA, it was soo yummy! I should buy balsamic vinegar, I have olive oil..this would be a great snack when I'm bored with the same old stuff.

Dipping bread in balsamic vinegar and olive oil - Yummm! Dipping bread in olive oil and seasonings!
I love to dip bread in balsamic vinegar and olive oil! We have a little italian restaurant near us that serves it with every meal. It is so delicious! Especially when the bread is fresh baked and hot out of the oven! Yummm.

That sounds really good. I usually dip in olive oil with seasonings but no vinegar. I'll have to try it with the vinegar. I sounds kind of like dipping in salad dressing to me. I do that alot too when I have bread with my salad.

My hbby tried that once and he didn't like the result. We had it in a restaurant and he wanted to try it at home, but we must have gone wrong somewhere. We will try your recipe though.

MMMMMM....sounds yummy! Actually, it sounds as if she's starting to make bruschetta and left out the tomatoes! I've heard of fried bread--something that was for when your pantry was extremely low and payday was far away. You take some of the leftover grease from frying bacon and heat it up in the fry pan (be careful of flying grease!) and lay a couple of pieces of white bread directly on it--flip after a few minutes and you have another tasty snack (albeit fattening!)
