I have what I believe is vitiligo. It is depigmentation of the skin. I have white patches of skin that wont tan (mainly on my legs and stomach) and I have had this for years. I really dont tan much because those spots stay white and it makes me feel ugly. Has anyone ever heard of or have this? I hear there is no cure but does anyone know of maybe a remedy to try?

I was diagnosed with this condition and told by the Dr. that if it bothered me, I could use a cream to darken the white patches. I haven't searched for a cure or treatment I've just decided to live with it. You could check out health on your browser for more info. Take care OhioBlondie24.

Unfortunately, there is not much that you can do to prevent the progression of vitiligo or to treat the areas of depigmentation. Once the pigment is lost, the color will not return; however, there is no way to predict whether or not the disease will progress. The causes are also unknown. There has been some experimentation with treating with different types of light rays, but none of these treatments are approved for use, nor have they been shown to be effective. The important thing is to use a good sunscreen (SPF 30) at all times, and re-apply it often to the areas of depigmentation, as these areas will burn easily and severely. Take a good multiple vitamin, Vitamin C, and Zinc supplement for skin health.

Michael Jackson had vitiligo and that was generally how I heard of it. I know that it is a dipigmentation disease and there is no cure for it. But you have to be very careful when going out into the sun. If you have vitiligo and has gotten it for years I would like to think that the disease hasn't progressed and will generally stay that way I think

I have vitiligo disease.I know there is a cure for that and I'll apply it this summer.I know a man selling a cream which is made up of some kind of plants and if you use it under sun light for almost 40 or 50 days, they clear all white patches and spots and you will be cured totally.I know the people using that cream and now there are no white spots and patches on your bodies. This is the only cure for vitiligo in the world.

Vitiligo treatment is not a simple case, I normally take long period of time and in some cases it not work. vitiligo may increase or decrease even during the treatment due to the side effects of the medicine or some internal factors. Now new medical technologies have been involve in vitiligo treatment like laser and photochemo therapies. You can find about available vitiligo treatments on http://www.antivitiligo.com/vitiligo-treatment/ but I think the natural treatment is better for vitiligo. because it is more cheap, more effective and has no side effects.
