WOW! This was quite an experience, not once but twice for us. Our Minnie, had always had difficult birth. Her first was a breach baby, u know where the legs are out first, she was straining so hard that we know something was wrong, so i called my husband to hold her and true enough her placenta had burst and one of the kitten's leg was wiggling out, no sign of other leg though.. after a few minutes of massaging her tummy and slowly shifting her opening, we were able to "grab" the second leg, And thank God, he's around with us now named Smokey. We also had to help her with her second birth as her baby simply refuse to come out. It was stuck at the opening.. (big baby). We could see its face being pressed at the opening.. so we had to press her out.. unfortunately that one did not survive as it too too long to exit to womb. We spayed Minnie after that. Anyone has their story to tell?

We also had to help a breech birth. Just like yours, only one leg out and we had to massage and work on her until the other leg appeared and then we were able to get the little guy out. He was the only kitten she had that litter.

I brought a cat home from work one day not knowing that she wa prego. After a few months we knew what was going to happen. I found her laying in a box of loose light bulbs, you know they were not in the sleeve anymore. She had already had one kitten. The box was sitting on top of the refrig. in the garage. I took the box down, carefully took the light bulbs out and put a towel in there. Let mama finish her job and surprise-4 more kitties came!

No, I didn't help with any births my cat had. A few hours before giving birth, she would want me to be with her all the time. But, the births were always fast and farily easy. I could tell she was in pain just before birth, though, but it was short. We finally had her spade after a couple of litters.

lucky u... and her... we only have one of our cats that had a fairly easy birth.. it just plop out...but she's not a good mother though.. so we had to bottle-feed all her babies to supplement as she refuse to nurse...

I have no cats, I adopt two dogs only. I love dogs more than cats.

well.. everyone has their preferences.. but most important is that once we take up a pet, we should treat them like part of the family.. and love them unconditionally as well :)
