Anyone ever go snow tubing?? We went today- Finally got enough snow to do this-- Its a great feeling.. Top of the big hill hopping on a tube and pushing off-- or not pushing off if you get a running start (I'm getting to old for that though) and whipping down the hill.. Tubes are the best because unlike sleds the spin you around-- so you might start off going forward and spin backwards for the remaining of the hill.. We have a bump (ramp) built in to our favorite hill. Man you hit it straight on and get air! The best part is the rush of cruising downhill-- the worse part is the long walk back up-- But have no fear once you're there its time to start again- How many people tube or sled??

I went sledding/tubing for the first time ever this winter and it was awesome. I totally loved it. My husband thought that I was werid that I was 29 before I ever went sledding and tubing.

I would think water tubing would be more fun because it isn't freezing cold.

We LOVE tubing! We go to a local ski resort that has lanes specifically for tubing. They have a T-bar lift that pulls you up the hill. My kids were pretty small the first time we went and I will never forget the terror on my daughter's face! LOL Oddly enough, she got back on with me though!!!! It's a great family adventure and a wonderful way to enjoy the snow!

I agree 100%-- my family loves to go-- We aren't lucky enough to have a t-bar lift- we have to walk up the hill-- Great exercise and fun in the snow- I'm ready for Spring now though!

well my son and his friend were pulling sleds behind the 4 wheelers the other nite on our property. but, thats a good way to kill someone! so i put a stop to that. the teenagers have more fun doing stuff they shouldn't in the snow-not like when they were kids, and you know they were just sledding!

OK-- I have to say that I did this when growing up too! My cousin would pull me around on a saucer sled on the back of her 4-wheeler.. I'm still here : ) It was such a blast! you just brought back great memories!

I'd love to go snow tubbing or sleding more often as it's great fun but unfortunately I live in one of the most central parts of the UK and we tend to get snow about once every 5 years, so the opportunities are limited, maybe I'll fly over to the states and you can show me how it's really done!

We have done this in Pennsylvania, it is really fun. We went to Seven Springs Ski Resort to do it and the best part of it was the automated lift, you just hook the handle of your tube to a rope and it pulls you right up the hill and spits you out at the top. It is set up with nine different hill styles, I try to stay on the lower ones 'cause am a bit of a chicken, but my husband and sister made me make a chain with them, three of us grabbing each others ankles in a row, and do the biggest hill. I ate so much snow on that one!

I absolutely love tubing! I first went when I was a teeanger with my youth group from my church on a winter weekend getaway in Lake Waubesa, Wisconsin. Now I live in California but they have a lot of winter retreat places around here too, and I went with my friends a couple of years ago and paid 20 bucks for an all day pass just for tubing! Tons of fun....I love outdoor winter activities!

I have gone sledding in the past but never tubing. I've got to be the worlds biggest chicken when it comes to doing stuff like that. But it sounds like fun. If you ever get near my neck of the woods, try killer hill at Cayuga Lake. Lots of people go there. I haven't been in a few years. Last time I went, I just watched the other people having fun.

Our youth group went a couple weekends ago at a local ski slope. We had a blast! They have a tow rope to take you to the top of the slope, then you go down on specially made tubes. What a thrill! The kids had a blast, but so did the adults! The only problem was, it was very, very cold... only in the teens, so you had to dress very warmly.

We tube and sled. We happen to have a sump the next street over and it's a great hill for tubing and sledding. The walk back up is a killer, and the only part that is really not too steep to walk up, is the opposite side then where we go down. Of course. So I tied a bright orange rope to one of the trees at the top, and to one at the bottom. When we go, we untie the one at the bottom and use the rope to pull ourselves back up the hill. We tie it at the bottom, a little high so that we can find it after it snows.

We never had the money for sleds. We always used plastic garbage bags. We flew like the wind down the hills! The other kids would offer to trade turns with their sleds. Trekking back up the hill was not a problem for us. The bags were light weight
