Blogging and Me

Today, I took the plunge and go a blog. I even changed the link on my profile to link to my blog. I've never blogged before. I'm honestly still a bit shaky on what blogging is, but as far as I can tell it's ranting in a place where people won't get offended by ranting. And sometimes being paid for it. But I have a lot of life experience that I don't feel is right for Mylot, and I have a lot to say. So why not blog it? I know there are thousands upon thousands of bloggers out there. I know other Mylotians blog. So tell me, what do you blog about?

I have a few different blogs. My MySpace one I use to keep in touch with friends and family and rant about my daily life. I talk about my kids and people that annoy me and just general stuff. I have an account at Bravejournal.com that I use for my writing (fiction/short stories/fanfiction) when I feel like writing. And I just started one at Blogger.com for my scrapbooking. I just write about my scrapbook pages I do and other stuff related to digital scrapbooking.

Yeah, I love my LJ but I kind of wanted something where I could put all the stuff I don't put on LJ - the political stuff, the stuff about my sexuality and my disability, current event crap.... plus, I can make money off of a blog.

Well, depends on the blog. I have several. Three main ones really, so that's what I'll focus on here. The first is my personal blog. On there goes anything and everything. I post funny links, embed videos that I found interesting, post my latest illustrations, and just generally chatter on about whatever comes to mind. The second is my "work" blog. It's a blog I run for my animal rescue. I post adoptable animals, rescue news, and links to other rescues who have special needs throughout the country. The third is a review blog. There I review websites (like this one), fashion trends, video games, books, movies, and anything else I come across and want to review.

Your discussions are always well thought out and interesting as are your replies here on Mylot. I think you are going to be a natural at blogging and I will definitely check it out. I write for three blogs. One, Nuttin' But Pimp is my quest to earn money online, Two, The Paranormal Blog, self explanatory, and three my Hubby's blog One Old Green Bus, about his rescuing a double decker bus, long story.... Cheers!

Fisrt of all, congratulations on starting your blog. It is something I have often thought of doing as I feel I have plenty to spout off about, my problem is that my thoughts are often quite random and I do tendo to shoot off at different tangents when I am on a rant, which is good for me as I get everything out of my system, bad for the reader because it is sometimes hard to keep up. BTW, I have been and taken a look at your blog, I don't know why but everything you write always makes me laugh, or at least brings a smile, mainly because of the majority of what your rant about is so on the button it's scary, in fact I have even gone as far as to bookmark your blog so that I can pop in every once in a while just to raise a smile.

I am in the process, with a little (a lot) of help from my friends of building a web-site. Once that is done, I will start the blogging process. I will have to go to your page and check you out ~Donna

I would like to know more about blogging. I would like to know what are the best places to blog as far as pay, quality, ect. I would like to have a open topic blog place if possible. How do you decide where all to blog?

No, it's nothing like that. It's basically just an online, public journal. A blog is like a personal forum almost, where you post updates and people can respond to them.

I just started my own blog, too at shoutpost. Where do you blog? Shoutpost is free, but I am not sure if I like the set up...it's hard to get used to for me. I have only had it for a few days now.

I've got my personal blog at blogspot. Just about my daily activities and some weird stuff that sometimes come in my way. Oh and I do use my blog to promote some recent business I'm into.

Blogging is basically just writing about your life, your experiences. I write sometimes just about what I'm cooking or starting a new work out. The one piece of advice I have for you is to not worry about offending someone. Because you could try so hard to sugar coat everything you write and still without knowing it offend someone. Besides blogging can be a great way to really get things off your mind.

I have a blog that is part of a contest for a schoolastic scholarsip. I post entries about any and everything. My life my relationship, my friends etc. I don't post as many entries as I am sure that I ought but the urge to blog comes to me in fits and snatches of material. Some people post nonsensical entries on this blog site just to post something. As number of entries is part of the contest.

i also started a blog of my own though i dont update it very often.i dont get time to,though i like writing.blog is a nice thing.you can turn it into anything-personal diray with all of your rantings,a businnes page with your links and all,a photographic website and what may not and all that for free.and the whole world is hooked on blogging now.i think its great to have a place where you can vent out your feelings without any worries and can also try out your writing skills.i have a list of quite a few useful blogs.i guess its also a great way to find like minded people.

Personally i feel that notion of blogging has originated from the fact that people want to share their personal experiences or feelings, views so that other people can have say abt it...its not abt going global or making yourself famous...jsut make ur thoughts reach across the world....

I've never had a blog. I am not persistent enough to write every day... not even every week, I think. It's a hard job. And I like to write. I am just a little bit of perfectionist. But I like to read my brother's blog. He writes great and is very fun. So I am pro-blogger, if I may say that. Keep on blogging! :D
