Ok folks, I want to know what features you absolutely require in your phone. Do you really need games, or do you just need it to work? Do you actually use the camera? Give me some ideas here folks. Personally, I require a backlit key pad, a camera, speaker phone, and internet access that is sufficient to retrieve my email from gmail account. What about the rest of you?

My phone's pretty basic. Well, compared to how most phones are, these days. It doesn't have a camera, but it does have a backlit keypad (which is nice) and the real ringtones. Gotta love those real ringtone deals. Even though I wasn't supposed to put my OWN ringtones and wallpaper on there, I did make my own and manage to get 'em on. Buwhahahahahahahahahahaha! It's nice when you have a ringtone that nobody else has. :)

Methinks you're right! Actually, back then, I was babysitting all day, but still had some time to entertain myself on the computer (obviously).

I like things pretty simple. I require a backlit keypad as well, a phone book, an external display, caller id, voice mail, and an alarm clock. I really don't need a camera or internet access. The speakerphone is nice but I could live without it. Most importantly it needs to work well and have a good battery life.

I agree with you. The reason I specify a speaker phone, is so that if I need to dial 911(emergency) they can record the audio of everything that happens. It's unlikely I'll ever need it for that but I keep it as a consideration. Thanks for touching on some things I forgot about.
