I always use Hibernate option because it is too much useful. It take only few seconds to start again my computer.

In my view, if you are equipped with good hardwares for your computer then, you need not be hibernate your system, but if you are running lack of resources in your pc's then Hibernate is a handy tool that, it should be used in a priority, as it saves lots of time (Especially applicable in customer service fields like cyber cafes, Data Processing Jobs) etc.

I switch off, because if u hbernate ur pc and u r to plug off ur hard disk and then take it to ur friends pc and copy some data, then when u will come back, many data will be lost !

I have always turned the hibernate option "off". I don't like the idea of my hard disk going to sleep. I do find it too hard to wake it up. And I cannot really throw a bucket of cold water on it. I simply use a screen saver or I let my monitor hibernate. However... I usually turn the computer off before going to bed. But I let it run the whole day once it is turned on... even if I won't use it for hours. I don't know if this still apply today. But 10 years ago... they would let the computers run 24/7 in the offices because it was believe that it was wearing the hard disk out everytime you switched them on. They were comparing it to a car... when you start a cold engine. For the same reason... taxis never turned their engine off until they finished their shift. But the new cars of today don't seem to have those problems like the old cars did. So maybe the new hard disks don't either. Who knows?

both! i hybernate when i have to use it again after one or two hours. i switch it off most of time, when i have to go home to rest. so that my computer will also have the chance to rest. =)

I prefer to hybernate as always. But one of my friend is not in favour of this as he think hybernating is creating problem to microprocessor later or after some time. But still i have not faced any problem from hybernation.

I choose to shutdown my computer everytime i leave to go do something else. leaving your computer running even in hibernation causes your hard drive to fragment slowing down your entire PC.
