machan. AMD is damn good for games. nothin else is better. but, ur edu-applications can be fulfilled, easily with a good RAM(256 is good for a laptop) and good s.ware. the processor isnt gonna change the rate so much. so, go for AMD

Laptop for gaming, go for AMD anytime but if it is Turion vs Dual core intel, prefer intel one

For gaming AMD is best. But you have to keep room cool, since it becomes more hot than intel do.

For gaming purpose original Intel processor is best not celeron intel or via cheapest. Only processor is not enough for gaming PC its mother board should be more supportive for game. Discuss with your vendor about mother board and RAM too not only processor.

Intel dual core if you can afford it, otherwise AMD. But you are buying a laptop for gaming? Your choice, but it is an unconventional choice. Be sure to buy a good graphics card if you want to play high end games. And sufficient RAM

For laptops it doesn't have a big difference. The big difference between these companies is for desktop PCs.There Intel is better.
