Mobile HDDs as Primary Master

Is it possible for me to set-up a computer where-in the master drive is a mobile HDD? I mean those that connects thru the USB interface? Will it work?

Sincerely i haven`t used an external HDD ... so i don`t know if it is possible. But i hope you will find your answer here.

Yeah I hope so. I hope some computer expert reads this post. I could easily research on the internet but I want some first-hand advice from people who have actually tried it. =)

its not possible coz your installer will not recognize the external drives when you install the OS. =

But I noticed that when I boot up, it tries to boot from the mobile HD. Hmm.. Weird.
