Arranged marriage and Joint families are the oldest tradition, followed even now in India ! Both the traditions are being followed by the Indians today . Joint families are a wonderful customs in India to shower affection wth grandparents, uncles , aunts, cousins ,etc. There's no feeling of loneliness in joint families and people are always there to guide us in downs. Also, loads of fun surely promised in joint families!!

The oldest one is the "mano" thinggy, it's a gesture of young people to their elders, young people will get their elder's hands and have it touch to their young's forehead. The oldest "bad" tradition is our government's corrupt doings, yeap it's a tradition I may call it since it is happening more than several decades. :(
