Have you tried dedicating songs in radio?

I love radio more than tv. I'm always in tuned with my radio. Everyday, i heard people dedicating songs it's either for their parents, sisters, brothers, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, friends, partners, children, grandchildren, officemates and even to someone they don't really know. I sometimes feel the urge of doing it also. To call a radio station and dedicate songs that me and my husband knows by heart. But I feel ashame.
Have you tried it? Dedicating songs on radio for a particular person in your life? How was it then?

I like listening to radio but i always play FM stations esp. Red FM, Radio Mirchi... I listening to music esp. when i am online as i like listening to my favourite music on my favourite stations. But i never thought of dedicating as i am very ahppy with the songs they play as they are mostly to my liking that's i why i lsiten to them and if i don't like i have many FM stations to listen to so i have nothing to worry. besides Red Fm mostly don't have songs dedication programs as they play hots songs, current music chart toppers, and play golednoldies at sepearate slots. But even in dedication program is always busy and i am intrested either. Moreover i have my audio cassesttes to listen to my favourite songs so i just chill and have fun.

yah,.. ive done that too..
when i was 17, i gave my opinion to a radio survey on relationship.. i also greeted thru phone, and requested for a song.. that thing did not just happened once, but for many times already.. i also have a live greeting over 91.1 MOR, a local FM station in iloilo, philippines, under the abs-cbn company..
in our place, in antique, philippines, i used to work in a local FM station as an anchor in a youth-oriented program called "voices of youth".. this was thru miss kate gilbert, who, at that time was a peace corp volunteer in our place..

well on the radio station i listen to you can dedicate somes online while well being on the net.. it is crossfire-radio.com you pick the song and write int he dedication and they read it over the air.
