I have heard about that also but I really do not think it is. As I have a microwave at home and I do use it to cook food on and off

Some people claim there exist more subtle dangers than the ones listed above. Claimed dangers associated with microwave cooking include: 1. That microwave cooking causes more nutrient loss than conventional cooking. Though some available studies conclude that nutrient loss is actually more severe in conventional cooking 2. That microwave radiation leads to chemical reactions in the food that are different from those occurring during conventional heating, and that consuming food with such chemicals can cause cancer, particularly due to the formation of suspected carcinogens called d-nitrosodiethanolamines.[citation needed]

I, too have heard all the rumors. Since I have used the microwave as my primary method of cooking for years, I believe I have proved them all to be old wives tales. Microwaves are not radiation, they are radio waves, just like th ones sent to your stereo or TV. Why do you think they call the towers for TV and Radio stations "microwave towers"? So, is your radio harmful? Besides making some people fat and lazy, is TV dangerous? I don't think so.
