Two Computers Are Better Than One !

I had a problem recently and had to re-install windows and as you know it takes quite a lot of time doing so. Plus other program updates had to be installed afterwards as well. So having another computer is handy, as whilst one computer is offline the other can be used to be online so all your web tasks can be updated and the net can still be available. I use yahoo messenger to keep in contact with my brother down south sometimes with my webcam, so having two computers is more than a handy item to have
Have you two computers?
Do you use them at the same time?

Yes, I have a desktop computer and a laptop. I rarely have the problem of a time consuming install and configuration because I have a good disk image of the desktop which I can restore, but if decide to reinstall and create a more recent backup then the laptop is available as a secondary option.
Usually I use the laptop for trying out Linux distributions, and have Xandros on it at present.

Thanx for that response! It never occured to me to use different operating systems on different computers. I may give that a try later on when I have time and see what affect it has on the speed and content available. There is never a day goes by that we don't learn something new at myLot.

yep.. two computers.. nope... three... one is idle..old one... the other one i use it to play games.. the third is a laptop.. so mostly work and other time pass on this one!! :) I am using a broad band connection via wireless router.. Actually having a laptop is better when you are having annoying power cuts in your place.. :)

I have two computers, I kept my last one when I bought a new PC, it's always handy to have a backup machine to use and it did help a lot when I needed it a few times but i don't use both at the same time, I just use the old one when there's anything wrong with this computer..

We have one laptop & one computer at home. The PC is set up permanently at our living room while we move the laptop from one room to another when we need it.
It's nice to have 2 computers, since you will avoid any downtime if one fails. And since, my husband & I both use the computer, it's nice that we don't have to wait for the other to finish before we can use the PC.
