Why some people like only imported product and do not like local product?

There are various reason why some people like imported products some they love to buy it because of quality they can get from that product. Some purchase imported to boost thier status in life and to brag about to those who can't afford it. I myself sometimes purchase imported products not for any other reason but for it's proven quality but most of the time I preferred local product.
