New to Blogging - What is the Best Way to Attract More Traffic To a Blog?

I started blogging a couple of months ago, so am still very new to it. I have added an adsense campaign and also use www.blogexplosion.com to help increase traffic to my site. I try to add good content and update it as often as possible. Are there any suggestions from someone who has blogged for a while on how to improve my content and drive more traffic to my site? Also, any suggestions on new topics and suggestions to blog about would be welcome - how do you come up with new blog entry subjects? Which blogs do you read frequently and why?

Adding content and updating regularly are the best ways, once the search engine spiders know you keep it updated they keep coming back :-).
Do you ping your blog at all? - once you've added a new post go to somewhere like pingomatic (there's many out there though) and ping it - this in turn lets the se's and feed reeders etc know that your blog has been updated. Also add them to places like Technorati etc.
You can also add it to directories etc.
As for topics, well there I can't help you, I sometimes have trouble coming up with them for my own blogs :-)

Thank you so much for the suggestions...I had never used a "ping" service. I was not sure what they were for. I just tried it, hopefully it will help. I will have to check into the directories, as I have not done that yet either (shame on me, I know!). I also can relate on sometimes having difficulties trying to come up with new content. It is not always easy! Thanks again.

im new to blogging but im going to try it..... i need the money to get a game station...im going to get as many people on my blog as possible, after all, u get money, and thats my goal, get 200 dollars on the internet...im still trying though!
