Can you fall in love with your chatmate?

I assume you mean online. I think you can fall in love with the idea of your chatmate. I think that in reality people are very different to how they appear online and often not intentionally. The fact of being behind a computer gives people more confidence to be who they want to be rather than who they really are.

I don`t think so becoz your chatmate maybe not like you think and 50% of people on the chatroom are not saying the true(maybe more)

i think you can fall in love with your chatmate.. but i think its stupid... because you dont really know what your chatmate feels when he/she is typing those words... since you cant see him/her

I still consider myself a beginner but then the experiences and situations of chatting has brought me into being considered as a pros. Hmmmm.... you might be wondering why do some people fall in love with somebody from the chat room considering that they know nothing about the person, only the words streaming out of the monitor and pictures received which we aren’t even sure if it is really him or her. It isn’t that hard to fall in love with somebody you haven’t met. A sensible discussion could start a desire to get to know a person better. It might even start from a simple "asl pls?" What will happen next is more important. Ok! You enjoyed chatting together. The next time around you will start looking for this chatmate, for another discussion and as you do this, you are emotionally attaching yourself to that stranger without realizing the risk we´re taking. Does the other person feel the same way for us??? If yes then we’re fortunate. If not, then maybe better luck next time. We might just encounter the irc love we’re looking for. What’s worse is when you think that the other person feels the way as you do but in reality, he or she doesnt. You might be overwhelmed by his caring acts and words but one day, your world will come crumbling down when he’ll say it isn’t you he likes but somebody else. I’m not saying that love over the net is really impossible. Cyber-love can be the start of an ideal love but then we should always be cautious. I’m not saying all the people on the net are hypocrites but it’s a well-known fact that people on the net wear different masks. It’s seldom to encounter real people who would open up themselves to the last detail. Trying to search for real love in the net might just lead us in vain but then why not try making a more stable relationship which is friendship and who knows? This might just start that something we’ve long been wishing for. It’s not impossible. It can be worked out. But then it will take time... lots of time.
