I usually just talk, assuming that someone is on duty. God is an english word and is not really the name of any deity. Jesus was the child of God, but so am I. Jesus never said to pray to him. Sometimes I pray to the angels, or the goddess. Some pray to saints or the Mother Mary. If 'God' is everywhere, this means that you could pray to a blade of grass, and God would hear you. God is within you, and therefore, hears all your thoughts, prayers, hopes and fears.

When I pray, I either pray to God, Jesus, or the Holy Spirit, which are really all the same. I pray to them because they are the only ones my God has told me to pray to and told me never to pray to false idols or people. I feel praying to a saint or even Mary is against what God has taught us, as we are to only pray and worship God.
