Getting My Blog Off the Ground

I post to message boards using my blog in the signature line. That's brought me a lot of traffic. If you join message boards on your topics, it should help you find interested readers.

The best place I have found is BlogExplosion. You surf other members blogs and in return they send folks to yours. I've gained most of my readership through them, and I've found some pretty awesome blogs there too. http://www.blogexplosion.com/index.php?ref=BunGirl

Try joining some traffic generating programs like BlogMad, Blog Explosion, and Blog Soldiers. They will get you hits, plus you'll get to view other blogs and meet people. Let me know if you'd like to swap links. Blog rolls and link exchanges are a great way to get your blog going. Also register at Technorati and ping your blog there at each update to get yourself moving up the search engines. Best wishes!

Thats great to hear. I had a rough start with that myself. I've been using the Hubpages.com and like the way they are setup too. You might check them out there is a link on my internet places interests.

try traffic swarm..i can send you a link if you like..that usually brings alot of peole to your attention..and maybe hook up with other bloggers who can add your link to theirs..when i get mine up and running we can exchange each other's links? what do you think?

I have read your last two blogs they were very interesting to read ...You can always join some free social networking places and set up a profile on each ...they also have a place to blog and you can link your blogspot to that as well...some one else menttioned technorati ..that is also a good site to use ... Social Book marking can help you blog also ...many different way to get traffic to your blog ..you will just have to see what you prefer .Normally do not suggest the traffic exchange sites but for your blog it might work well because if the intersting content ... What abou disability support groups? That was my first thought, when I saw the main subjects of the blog. Signatures in your emails and message boards. Word of mouth from your friends could also help.

On a side note - maybe you should also have your cosplay pics, or a separate cosplay site of your own.

Myspace is a great place to network and bring in traffic. www.myspace.com/hotmix106 you can add your blog url and increase your reach by 1000s...it really does work.

One place you might signe up with is http://www.mybloglog . It is a community of other blogers and some may link you to their blogs. It, in itself, will not pay you but it might help to build traffic.

Promoting a blog. Find people who have recently started one. offer to refer people to them in return for a link back to you. (link exchange) I'd happly add your link to my website and also mention it inside my blog. (both get a large amount of hits) Also the message board idea is good but remember some sites count this as spamming if you don't take part in the community. =) Best advice is to keep your blog intersting. mines about projects and my life, not very "exciting" but people read it and visit it often. (more than some of my minor projects) lol
