how would you react if your child told you they were gay?

if you child came up to you one day and daid they were gay. how would you react. would you accept them or disown them. would you go on with your life and try to pretent they were't and not acknowledge them and their partner.

They're still human, are they not? I'd shrug it off and ask if they want a cookie.

good for you. i had a friend who told her parents she was gay and her parents didn't talk to her for a long time and now they talk but don't discuss anything like who she dates and nobody talks about the fact that she is gay. it's an ignored subject.

wow, that is a tough question. as a mother, i could never think of telling my children or child that i don't want to be your mother any more becuase they are gay. i would be hurt, but i love my children. and when you love unconditionally, there is nothing that will keep you from wanting your child happy

I love my children unconditonally. There isn't anything they could do to change that. No matter who or what they are I will always love and accept them.
