Tips for getting more responds (how to drive others respond to you) I am not sure if there is something to do with each other between earning ratio and respond amounts. but getting more responds to the discussion I created always makes me happy! well, that's what I am going to talk, why others get more responds than you, though you are discussiong the same topic. First of all, let's see what drives people to make a respond??? According to my study, there are two kinds of ppl and also two types of responds here on mylot usually! 1. short responds with only a few words, and the posters are usually newbies or money addicts. They make a respond just for increasing their post quantity to get more rating and to get to 500 so that they can use copy and paste function; or other guys who only post for money purpose. Their posts are usually meaningless. 2. long responds with many words and abundant contents. These posters are usually serious ones. They only respond to the topics that attract their interest, and they have something, some ideas to show or to share on that very topic. They always give out of their own ideas in their responds; both the discusion creater or other readers can gain something from their posts. Now you may know that which kind of posters you need to get hold of! It goes without saying, we should drive the 2nd posters to make more responds. While whether they make a respond or not depends on what you are discussing! That is the content of your discussion, if it is worth discussing or not!!!!!! So now you may know how to make a discussion??? a. always discuss something that most ppl may be interested in; b. always try to make your discussion meaningful; c. always make your discussion has abundant content; d. always post your own ideas in your discussion; e. always try to type more (but not bullsh*t); f. always ask questions at the end of your posts (drive the others to comment on your ideas) Enjoy your mylot day and good luck!

Yes, I agreed! Mylot is fair to every one, in one word, hardworking ones will never be ignored. And I'd like to add some more here, that is try your best to comment back to the responses in your discussions if you have plenty of time! but I need to say always comment those that are worth doing so. I will never comment those responses with less that 10 words.

I actually did just started a discussion. I asked if they have had experiences wherein they just started a diiscussion and then got a lot of responses in such a short period of time. Since you are on my FRIENDS list. You better comment on that as well, haha. But seriously, this is a good topic. You do get a higher rating and will earn more money if you get more responses in discussions you've started. I've learned that from another discussion.

Thanks, aling_tindera, thanks for telling me that more responses means higher earning ratio; but I am not sure if it is true or not; before I saw one guy make up to $9 by only one discussion, cause his discussion was that day's top1. Good luck to us all!

Great tips. And I need them, with earnings of just $5 after 2 months of mylot, off and on. Don't get much time, but I hope to make payout this Feb. I don't totally agree with the long/short posts discussion, even short posts can add value. But your tips are really worth it - a. interesting b. meaningful c. content d. own ideas e. detailed posts f. questions - to paraphrase it all!

Good poins you have here. I must say, it is worth applying what you suggested. If they generates highr earnings because one gets more responses, why not? I am going to try you ideas and see if they work. Wish me luck.

This is some kind of long, meaningful and contributes to the reader, thanks for the thought. I got my earnings from discussions alone, it may not be as much as you get, but it gives me joy to just be with you sharing whatever my mind can on the topic you discuss. You asked me to place my payment at some discussion you made for that purpose, How do I do that copy and past it? I may try to post it there okay.

Hi. I'm actually not even 4 days old on this thing yet, discovered it quite by accident, however I was on myspace before, have 100 postings that I have only recieved a handful of responses from! Ok, I guess I shouldn't complain, made some great friends, got to know a few people who are important to me, then came mylot. I think that it's genuine interest in heartfelt responses is amazing! Then I remember, oh yeah, people are getting paid...yadda yadda yadda! but the amount makes me smile, because it truly isn't much at all. it is just kind of cool, your answers might mean something, to someone!

Thanx for the tips. It sounds good. But I think mylot now losses its fans. Recent changes in processes for posting here has made the posting a non-interesting work.

I dont agree with you masbaaz, I think the recent changes to MyLot has eliminated much of the spamming and useless discussions. You can still post whatever topic you want, the MyLot rules does not impeach on your creativity!!!

Thanks for your advice and also i like to say some words. To get more responses make some comment to the discussions that is started by you to your replied post. So that you can get some more reply.

One of the problems is that why some of us do make quality discussions people seem to by pass them to answer the more easier posts, the reason people keep posting crappy discussions is because people keep responding to them

Thanks for all the tips Cashnono. But there are thread which deserves short responses. And some others which can be like pages. I post them according to the merit of the discussion. How to judge one line precise precise post vs. ten line gibberish ? I would obviously go for the one liner instead of hundred liner beating around the bushes.

we should also have good friends who keep responding to our discussions. i always check the discussions that my friends have started and i respond to them if i have something to add. i also try to make sure that i keep rating all my friends and anyone who responds to my discussions

As long as your discussion has content and ideas, that is no need to worry about responses; that is to say, as long as your discussion is worth discussing, well, lots on mylot users would like to make responses and comments.

Thanks for the post.... I too agree that there should be something curious in the post....that is the '?' factor which drives the readers to comment.... What should really happen is that some creative comments and criticisms should be posted so that it is beneficial for the readers to form an opinion on a particular topic based on the popular opinion.... Posting and commenting only for money is actually against the noble intentions of the community.... People should look to earn money in a fruitful way

Well you didn't raise any questions at the end of your post!:P Contrary to the content of the post...:)) Thanks for the tips! You can't imagine, how hard I try to attract more users to answer my questions! I try to make them as interesting as possible, but it seems that users respond to things like "What's your favorite color?" or "Do you have a pet?". So, basically, simple, meaningless questions...:(

I completely agree with your study,, and regarding the users you mentioned who just keep posting for increasing their count rather than quality, i would suggest such users should heavily compensate by decreasing their ratings...by simply discarding them or giving them '-' rating...that would suffice that next time they dont commit the same mistake...
